I think we mostly agree on the rest of what you said about faith.
If I was writing a doctorate thesis I should explain the context. However, when I am simply addressing a specific point I use only what is directly related. I figure everyone has a Bible available and can examine the context if they are interested.
We’ve been able to add context to our posts. Why can’t you? Is it that you are unwilling or unable?

I’m guessing that since you have failed to respond to my other post, you are unable to do so.

Hebrews says "Faith is… the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
The evidence against the Book of Mormon and the Book of Abraham IS SEEN. We know by empirical science that they are not what Joseph Smith said they were. Mormonism just doesn’t suffer from a lack of evidence to support the claims of Joseph Smith.; there is evidence that proves him wrong.

A Mormon’s faith may allow them to believe the sun rotates around the earth, or the earth is only 6,000 years old but that does not mean they are factually true.

Faith, hope and belief have overlapping definitions. IMO When someone believes in Christ, they may believe Christ is our savior. When one has faith in Christ their belief is strong enough that if Christ asks us to do something they will be willing to do it.
The first, faith=belief is Biblical, in the sense that translations are made that match the two.

The second, that faith=trust is also Biblical, for the same reason.

As already stated, faith and hope are not the same things. Faith, hope and charity (caritas or love) are the three Christian virtues. If faith and hope are redundant then there are redundant virtues. Certainly the three virtues should be cultivated together, and are tied tightly together, and one or more will grow as another is practiced.

The reason for our faith is hope, and the knowledge of God’s love for us (his charity towards us). Our response to God’s love is faith, hope and charity.
