To me…that is worship. I could give my opinions on how others worship and knock how they do it like you knocked how we do it…but I find Christ rarely enjoys it when folks do that. Right?
Umm, isn’t it the Mormon Jesus who calls all Christian religions corrupt and abomination? Describes infant baptism an abomination and names a church as the church of the devil?

I see it as worshiping…but I guess I just do not have the ability to tell others how they worship is wring…
You’re pulling my leg, right? Lol.

But Zaff is right I didn’t say it was wrong. I’d say it was more a defense of Mormon meeting style. But if you want to get your persecution on, I say go for it.

Their Sacrament Meeting is run like you would run a meeting at work. .
I should probably correct myself… it probably feels more like a Homeowners Association Meeting than like a corporate meeting. “All those in favor of sustaining these callings can affirm by the raising of your right hand” “All those opposed by a like sign”… Those aren’t the exact words, but close enough.

I guess the other reason that it feels like a HOA meeting is how plain the buildings are. There is literally no artwork of any kind in the meeting space.

Well…I guess, like when I got older, I did not need my book to have pictures 🙂

You mentioned the sustaining. Yes. when a person is called to a position, the membership offers a sustaining vote of support. That lasts less than 5 minutes in an hour meeting. The rest is prayer, hymns, Sacrament, and sermons, or talks, on religious and spiritual topics.

I have been to board meetings, HOA meetings and city meetings…they are nothing like that.

Made me think. Does God need to use marketing strategies of men to get His message out? In order to save His people, does the Gospel have to be “marketed”?
I don’t know why but this made me think of all those “Calling Catholics Home” signs I see around town. Would that be an example of marketing his message? 🙂

:yup:

It would be, yes. Marketing though in it’s most basic form is kind of what evangelizing is, is it not? You’re trying to sell someone on the virtue of the gospel, of Christ, of your particular branch or brand of Christianity if you will. Yes Christ and the Spirit do most of the selling, but the person doing the evangelizing has a part in it as well.
