Unfinished:
Could one of the Latter Day Saints guys please explain this further to me? Why you don’t believe in it?
I have heard that there was original sin before Christ’s sacrifice, but his sacrifice got rid of original sin.
We do believe in the original sin, but not as understood by you people. Here are some references:
Ether 3:
2 . . . for we know that thou art holy and dwellest in the heavens, and that we are unworthy before thee;
because of the fall our natures have become evil continually; nevertheless, O Lord, thou hast given us a commandment that we must call upon thee, that from thee we may receive according to our desires.
Mosiah 3:
16 And even if it were possible that little children could sin they could not be saved; but I say unto you they are blessed; for behold,
as in Adam, or by nature, they fall, even so the blood of Christ atoneth for their sins.
19 For
the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.
Mosiah 16:
5 But remember that he that persists in his own carnal nature, and goes on in the ways of sin and rebellion against God,
remaineth in his fallen state and the devil hath all power over him. Therefore he is as though there was no redemption made, being an enemy to God; and also is the devil an enemy to God.
Moses 6:
55 And the Lord spake unto Adam, saying: Inasmuch as thy children are
conceived in sin, even so when they begin to grow up, sin conceiveth in their hearts, and they taste the bitter, that they may know to prize the good.
