You claim to be both catholic and mormon and yet you are still recieving communion, correct?

I think I may sound hostile towards you, but please be assured that this is most certainly not the case. I am both with you and against.

Anyway;

Why do you say that it doesn’t matter?
For catholics the trinity is a mystery. For mormons it is not such a mystery. But in the end, it really does not matter what catholics or mormons think of the trinity. It will not get us to heaven regardless of what we believe about the trinty. It will depend on our faith in Christ and in our good works. However, a discussion about the trinity is fine. But in the end, our beliefs about the trinity will not get us to heaven.

I see good in both churches. At this moment, on BYU TV (you can get it from the internet) byutv.org/streaming the mormons are having their general conference and it will continue on Sunday. You can watch the general conference and hear mormon leaders speak about god at this moment. But also tomorrow.

Good words are being spoken and good words are spoken by the pope and catholic leaders in the Vatican newspaper. I can learn from both.

Whyme please look at what you just said;
It will not get us to heaven regardless of what we believe about the trinty.
But in the end, our beliefs about the trinity will get us to heaven.
…can you see now, why I am confused? You contradicted your self, or was it a typing error?

Okay, I see what you mean. I’m very sure that whyme is going through a dark stage where he/she is quite unsure of where her soul belongs and to what church.
The Trinity has been discussed countless times on the forum. And in the end, nothing has changed. Mormons say this and catholics say that. And in the end, no one changes their minds. But in the end, regardless of what we believe about the trinity, it will not get us into heaven. Faith in god, good works and love will lead us to heaven.

Since we are human, we will all go through a dark stage: mother theresa, Therese Martin, Saint John of the Cross all went through their dark moments. It is natural.

Yes, it was. 🙂 Our belief about the trinity whether mormon, catholic or protestant will not get us to heaven. And since that is the case, catholics should not say that mormons are not christian because of their belief about the trinity. God will decide whether mormons are christian or not. But I say they are but I am not god. 🙂

I corrected my statement in that post.

But false beliefs can only cloud our minds. And by the way, those people who you say did not change their minds even after endless chats on forums, well we cannot see into their souls but I am most certainly sure that a seed was planted in them.

This is taken from;

The similarities with the formula used by the Catholic Church are at first sight obvious, but in reality they are only apparent. There is not in fact a fundamental doctrinal agreement. There is not a true invocation of the Trinity because the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, according to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are not the three persons in which subsists the one Godhead, but three gods who form one divinity. One is different from the other, even though they exist in perfect harmony./QUOTE]
See the difference in our beliefs?

Where are all the mormon? They are like buses, they never appear and then suddenly there are so many that you just want to jump into a dark hole and hide! But where are they now?

This is the weekend of their twice-yearly general conference. They are all watching it on TV.

General conference is where their prophets and apostles reveal the word of the Lord, which will at some later time be dismissed as “their personal opinion”. :rolleyes:

well today and tomorrow they have something called General Conference (where their prophet, apostles, and other leaders speak), so they’re probably busy right now…🙂

Yeah I’ve noticed this. I wonder when the prophet is actually speaking as a prophet…perhaps another thread, another time.

That’s easy. It’s when he said something the LDS church still teaches. Then the prophet is Moses himself. But if the church has stopped teaching it and is now embarrased by it, then it was just the poor old fella’s personal opinion.

:rolleyes: This is an embarrasment to the whole of christianity, let alone mormons!

Well that says it all! 😛

Fortunately, Mormons are not part of Christendom. They are a post-Christian religion, so there is really no embarrassment except to themselves.

Just what I figured…eventually, the threads about the trinity and the lds end up repeating the mantra, the mormons are not christians. 🙂 And of course, the mantra is said by catholics who believe that they are christians because of the Trinitarian definition or formula.

mormonism is sooo stupid it should be illegal. the fact that there are as many mormons as there are points to the fact that our culture is intellectually vapid when it comes to critical thought.

as for their 3 god or whatever, it’s not even worth trying to understand, mormons don’t even know.
