and yet here you are on a catholic site…why is that? there is still hope for you.

Well thanks. I singed up to protest the misrepresentation of my faith I ran into while doing a little research. I’m alway up for better understanding others faith. It helps me better understand my own and I often find little inspiring stories and great catch phrases. 🙂

Now that’s a heck of a coincidence. I have a son who is serving a mission in Arizona and Gilbert was his most recent area. Maybe I’ll have some more news about this when he writes next week.

If it were reported, I doubt the religion of Catholic would even come up. This sort of thing is going on in schools across the country. Only in areas where there are a lot of Mormons do Mormons cry out this is happening because they are Mormon.

It is bullies, plain and simple, who choose anything to make a point of bullying. Eye glasses, height, size, religion. It is only Mormons who think every day bullying in a school is “persecution” of their religion.

Plus, the fact that these pellet guns are a problem in schools, period.
When a person’s race is p(name removed by moderator)ointed or his or her religion is stressed and then a beating takes place, it is usually classified as a hate crime. And that makes all the difference. If these two boys were beaten as a random act of violence, then that would be a different story. But in the case as reported in the newspaper, it seems to be a hate crime.

First of all, I see nothing in that article that says anything about the attackers being Catholic. So why is this even being discussed on a Catholic forum?

Second, every religion has missionaries, and all missionaries know (or should know) there are inherent dangers in being a missionary.

The article itself says “Right now, it is unclear if the boys were really attacked because of their faith or if the attackers were just looking for a fight.”

To all the mormons on here, take a look at this article, showing that in 2005, 26 Catholic missionaries were killed.

Suddenly a beating that you can walk away from doesn’t seem so bad now does it? It doesn’t make it right, but it sure isn’t as bad.

Again, I’m not even sure why this is being discussed on a Catholic forum when there is no indication of anyone involved being Catholic.

Becasue a certain poster likes putting these up here as proof that people hate Mormons, that they are being targetted, and because of that persecution, they must represent the truth, even though that poster claims not to be one.

Gee, I just can’t imagine who that might be!!!:whacky:

One day, I will track these types of threads and posts and figure it out. I know that zerinus is a big defender of the LDS, but he makes no bones about being one. He also doesn’t see this type of stuff as proof that they are right. His arguments are much more intellectual. I will find the culprit one day:thumbsup:

why me, it is school yard bullying. In this case two boys who are obviously on a path of hate and crime. Anyone who sports a swastika is by definition proclaiming their hate. The target of that hate will vary, but does it really matter who the targets are? Isn’t the issue the hate itself and what can be done to eradicate it?

This sort of hate is a disease, and not acceptable, no matter who the targets are. To single it out as a crime against Mormons is ok, I guess, if that is your agenda. But I think it makes you blind to the real issue.

Catjetan has got it, you should pay attention to this statement:

“In the battle between Mormons and Nazis, I’m on the Mormons’ side.”

I agree and furthermore, I hope that if it was Nazis attacking Catholics, even just an isolated incident, that Mormons would show sympathy for Catholics.
