So, the two Mormons with whom I spoke last week came back to my door today. They were right on time. Over the week, I had formed questions about Mormons and Mormonism and started asking them. I listened carefully to what they said, but I’m still a little confused.

At one point, after I asked about the Great Apostasy, they started telling me about how the priesthood of the 12 Apostles died with them, and that the Asiatic side of Christianity fell into error soon afterwards. Actually, one of the two said that the Apostasy had already begun when the Apostles were still alive. Then they told me that Jesus chose 12 more Apostles (or Disciples I think is the word they used) in the America’s. I asked them if they believed that these 12 new disciples constituted a new Church. They said no, that it was in continuity with the Church of the 12 Apostles. I asked them how was it that the Asiatic Christians fell into error so quickly while the Nephites maintained the true religion for several centuries. I didn’t understand the answer.

They told me that they believe that God the Father has flesh and blood. I asked them where they have support for this notion in the BIble. They said that parts of the Bible have been removed but that’s what originally was believed.

I asked about alcoholic beverages, caffeine, etc. and why they don’t drink it. They told me because it inhibits them in the spiritual life. I mentioned that Jesus makes wine at Cana and that at the institution of the Eucharist Jesus uses bread and wine. They said that God revealed to Joseph Smith the facts about alcoholic beverages and the such.

Oh, I asked about the Eucharist, and I asked if they believed it in symbolic terms. They mentioned it as a remembrance and spiritually enriching. They didn’t really comment on whether or not they believed in the Real Presence.

Anyhow, I think I’m going to do some research on Mormonism. I think I’ll go buy a book from Borders on the subject.

They try to be confusing. That’s the only way they can convince you of their lies.
At one point, after I asked about the Great Apostasy, they started telling me about how the priesthood of the 12 Apostles died with them, and that the Asiatic side of Christianity fell into error soon afterwards. That’s probably because they didn’t give you an answer and just evaded the question. Look at everything the Early Church Fathers said about the Church. It all agrees with the Bible. Their was no apostasy. The Mormons use that because otherwise no one would join their church.
They told me that they believe that God the Father has flesh and blood. I asked them where they have support for this notion in the BIble. They said that parts of the Bible have been removed but that’s what originally was believed.
The Bible has always remained the same. In fact early Christians would have flipped out if people tried to change their religion, as they were dying for Christianity. The Mormons try to use this as a point to show that the Bible was changed. There is no proof of this happening. Also the Bible explicitly states that God has no body. I can show you where, if you would like.

Exactly they just changed it because they felt like it. They have no reason, they just made this up to make them seem more pious. I ask you this would a pious person marry multiple women and thus commit adultery on them all?
Oh, I asked about the Eucharist, and I asked if they believed it in symbolic terms. They mentioned it as a remembrance and spiritually enriching. They didn’t really comment on whether or not they believed in the Real Presence.
That’s because when Joseph Smith was making up the BoM he really only knew about Protestant Christianity.
Anyhow, I think I’m going to do some research on Mormonism. I think I’ll go buy a book from Borders on the subject.
That’s good. The more you know, the better. Then you will know why Mormonism is full of lies and wrong.

Good Luck!

Every so-called, self-styled, prophet lead (Calvin, Zwingli, Luther, Moon, Jim Jones, Koresh, White, Smith) ‘religion’ justifies its existence on this one lie:

The Catholic Church is [you pick] wrong; in apostasy; not biblical enough; not biblical at all; too biblical; had those shifty Eye-talian popes; had that POLISH pope; has that GERMAN pope;

and

my way is better because Jesus [or St Paul, or the Early Church fathers or bishops or saints or popes] didn’t know what Christianity is really all about.

I hope this clears things up for you.
