Morning/Evening prayer booklet -- any ideas on artwork?

Hi All,

I am starting this thread to get some ideas for a Morning and Evening Prayer “booklet” that I am making for a four-day long retreat/conference on Catholic education next week.

Basically, it will just be a guide for the lay participants (about 20 of them) to follow along and join in praying the office with the clergy who will be there. I am looking for religious images to include in the booklet (for the front cover, etc.). Please post to this thread any that you think would be appropriate.

Note: the size of the booklets will be standard 8.5"x11" paper, folded in half.

I usually look at Google images (very carefully) searching for religious clipart that is copyright free.

here are a couple of other religious / Christian clipart sites. but read the fine print and don’t take any images that have a copyright without permission…

How about the image of Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ , painted by St. Luke. It was carried by St. Thomas the apostle to India about one thousand years ago. It is kept in the Church of Mount St. Thomas in Madras India. I found a copy of it on

The theme of the “retreat”/conference is ministering to students at Catholic schools that serve predominately Hispanic communities. It will be for the pastors, principals, and school board presidents of six inner-city Chicago parishes, all with schools and a nearly 100% Hispanic demographic.

The clergy will be diocesan, but it is being run by a few priests from the Congregation of Holy Cross (that which runs Notre Dame).

I was up till about 2am putting the booklet together – it’s almost done now. I just have to go back and take care of some text formatting. (And hope that it prints out the way I want it to, in booklet form!)
