i have composed my own morning offering prayer (i will send it by pm/ post it on her if any one wants it…

instead of just offering prayers, works joys and sufferings of the day, mine offers up EVERYTHING…like eating, drinking, reading, walking, sleeping, waking, heartbeats, breathes, and alot of other stuff…

another reason why i composed my own is because there are so many intentions that i want to offer it up for and the general morning offering prayer doesn’t cover everything that i want to pray for…

anyway my question is

if i have offered up prayers, works, joys, sufferings and everything else etc…
if i say a small prayer during the day for eg jesus i trust you, mary help me, does that automatically go towards my morning offering prayer intentions even though i didn’t say it for any particular person or thing…
and what about if during the day i am praying for something in particular does the morning offering intentions benfit from these prayers too…
and all my other offerings that i mentioned (and those i haven’t) would they go to my morning offering intentions and benefit those i have offered them for…

sorry if this sounds really jumbled…

if anyone needs me to be more clear just ask and i will try to say what i mean more clearly

ANGELIC PEACE

The words of The Morning Offering cover everything:
Oh my Jesus I offer you all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day for all the intentions of Your Divine Heart.
Everything you do and think, pray and say, what you suffer and what gives you joy for the entire day is gathered up in that Morning Offering and offered to the Heart of Jesus for all His Hopes and intentions. And if you make your Morning Offering for a special intention, then the same applies for that intention.

…and as St. Bruno said “No matter the words…I say just do it. God understands.” …for even if we forget our Morning Offering, God knows even the hidden desires of our heart which we have not expressed at all, or perhaps forgotten to express…a lovely little prayer is “Jesus, I unite my heart to yours, please make my heart like yours”…

AngelicPeace,

I’d like to know your morning offering. Please post it here, if it’s okay. Thanks.🙂

One of the requirements for receiving an indulgence is that one have at least a general intention of receiving it. It is well to include a general intention to gain all available indulgences in ones morning offering, say an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be for the Pope’s intention and offer them for the souls in Purgatory.

First - to Angelic Peace:
While your intentions are great, I think the approved Morning Offering covers everything - the breath you take, the food and drink that sustain you - these are joys or gifts from God. But I see l you want to be extra particular. Here’s a thought - Upon completion of the approved Morning Offering, then why not offer Our Lord all your actions and all the gifts He’s given you…I think that would cover it.

Secondly - to another poster whose name I’m not finding (sorry, in advance) – a question: I see a quote of the Morning Offering saying “for all the intentions of Thy most Divine Heart”…I was taught “Sacred Heart”.

I’ve also noted same in Rosary of Holy Wounds (on the net). I’d learned to say, “O, Jesus, Pardon and Mercy throught the Merits of Thy Sacred Wounds” where one site shows it as “Holy” Wounds.

Thoughts? Comments?

I am the errrant Poster!!!🙂 Actually i was taught “Sacred Heart” also…sometimes I do change around words of learnt-by-heart prayers (other than if recited in community) just to ensure I am thinking what I am saying…but this is only a sometimes habit of mine to correct a possible spiritual problem of not thinking what I am praying.😃

Blessings …Barb:)
