Morning Offering?

This is the most common version of the morning offering I’ve found:

O Jesus,
through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer You my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings
of this day for all the intentions
of Your Sacred Heart,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world,
in reparation for my sins,
for the intentions of all my relatives and friends,
and in particular
for the intentions of the Holy Father.

Amen.

Bee, I created my own shortened version that I say every morning before the Crucifix in my bedroom:

O God, Trinity Whom I adore, I offer Thee this day through the Immaculate Heart; may I do all according to Thy most holy will, in the fullness of Thy Charity. Amen.

That’s the one I learned but with one addition. After “reparation for my sins” there is a line “for the unification of all Christians.”

Mine varies morning to morning, but it goes something like this:

Gracious, Kind, and Mericful Heavenly Father, today I offer you my praises, and thanksgivings for blessings that have been bestowed upon me. Father, help me to live this day for Your glory, and help me to be love my neighbors Father, and to do all things in Your Name. Amen.

After that, I will voice intentions such as souls in purgatory, epiphany of sinners, peace, special intentions for family and friends, personal intentions, etc.

Does anyone have any other favorite versions of the morning offering prayer?

Susan Tassone has written several small books on helping the Holy Souls in Purgatory. I picked up this Morning Offering from her, and it is the only one I use.

“O my God, I offer Thee every thought, word, and deed of the day now beginning for the poor souls in purgatory; my rising and lying down, my going out and coming in, my work and recreation, my sorrows and delights, my successes and disappointments, my good fortune and mishaps, my gains and my losses, my pleasures and pains, all that I may do, say, or feel, beseeching Thee that through the infinite merits of the Passion of Thy Divine Son, to which I unite all my works, these poor souls may be speedily released from their dolorous pains to see, love, and enjoy Thee forever. Amen.”

Yes, it is a bit wordy. and if you wanted to shorten it by omitting the words from “my rising and lying down” to “all that I may do, say, or feel” I think it would be OK with God. It’s the thought that counts, and he knows your intentions

***O Lord, grant me that I may greet with your peace all that this day is to bring. Grant me the grace to surrender myself completely to your holy Will. In every hour of this day, instruct and guide me in all things. Whatever tidings I may receive during this day, teach me to accept them tranquilly in the firm belief that your holy Will governs all. Govern my thoughts and feelings in all I do and say. When unforeseen things occur, let me not forget that all is sent by You. Teach me to behave sincerely and reasonably toward everyone, that I may bring confusion and sorrow to no one

Bestow on me, O Lord, the strength to endure the fatigue of the day and to bear my part in its events. Guide my will and teach me to pray, to believe, to hope, to suffer, to forgive and to love.
