All good. 🙂 However, if you wish to pray with the Church, the Liturgy of the Hours is best. It is easy to do and can be found online: divineoffice.org. Most lay people pray Morning and Evening Prayer and perhaps Night Prayer, as well. The LOTH follows the Church calendar with the major saints, feast days, solemnities, etc. It takes us through the Church seasons keeping us in sync with all the Church’s liturgies.

Sign of the Cross
Lord’s Prayer
Act of Contrition
The Hail Mary
The Glory Be
prayer to St. Jude
prayer to guardian angel
prayer to Jesus
prayer for the souls in purgatory
prayer to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph
Apostle’s Creed
Sign of the Cross

(other prayers, e.g., prayers of petition for the needs of others, depending on circumstances)

Thanks for posting this.

I was not taught the Liturgy of the Hours but will make an effort to learn about it.

After my morning Mass, I pray my LOTH, The Morning Offering Prayer, Prayer to Christ the King.

You’re welcome. :tiphat: I too was not brought up praying the LOTH, but I learned it and love praying it.

It consists of an opening prayer, the Glory (be) to the Father…, a hymn, antiphons, Psalms (followed by a Glory be…), a reading, responsory, reciting of either the Canticle of Zechariah (Morning Prayer) or the Canticle of Mary (Evening Prayer) with antiphon, intercessions for the Church and the world with private intentions added (just before reciting the Our Father, although not necessarily indicated in the text), a closing prayer and final blessing It can be silently read or recited aloud–whatever works best for individual prayer. In community it is said aloud. Also, Morning Prayer has an added invitatory antiphon and Psalm. It may sound complicated, but like following the Mass, once you get used to doing it, it becomes second nature. 🙂

As I am mounting my bicycle before 7 am, my morning prayers tend to be “in my own words” except for the Our Father and Hail Mary. It forces me to think my prayers as I am multitasking (with a lot of help from the Holy Spirit and my Guardian Angel) by praying and trying to stay safe and cycle considerately. Although my prayers are in my own words, they follow a regular pattern. I suspect that my prayer pattern maybe a mix of Catholic and Evangelical.

Morning Offering
Our Father
3 Hail Marys
Glory Be
Act of Contrition…
SOTC.

Liturgy of the Hours. Upon rising (approx 6-6:30 AM), I pray Vigils/Office of Readings. At approx. 7:30 am, Lauds (Morning Prayer); at 9:45, Terce, at noon, Sext (Mid-day prayer), plus the rest of the LOTH throughout the day.
