Do you not understand freedom of speech? It’s illegal for the moderators to take my free speech down. That’s why it’s still up even though you reported it
You obviously don’t understand how freedom of speech works. The First Amendment restrains the government from limiting speech. It doesn’t apply to how private organizations conduct themselves. It’s decidedly not illegal for them to remove your posts and you ought to know, since you’ve had posts taken down before for similar rhetoric. And even in governmental and legal contexts, the right to free speech is not unconditional. One can be tried for perjury.

So answer me, do you really not get this, or are you deliberately being contrarian to push people’s buttons?

I can’t tell if you’re pretending to think this to get a rise out of people or if you just really bombed high school civics.

Come get the police to arrest me if you think you’re correct. It’s ILLEGAL to take down posts since it violates freedom of speech!

Police are en route to your address for the crime of failing to look up the first amendment on Wikipedia.

You said catholic answers could have me arrested for violating forum rules. They cannot, due to freedom of speech

Seriously, are you drunk? I said no such thing. Please quote the post where I said something that absurd.

In case it wasn’t clear, I was being sarcastic when I said cops were coming to your address.

You just said police are in route. Learn how to read my friend
It was sarcasm in response to your suggestion that we call the cops. I thought it was obvious that it was a joke because the idea that Internet forum rules are enforced in court (or subject to the First Amendment) is ridiculous.

Wrong again! The Supreme Court has ruled we have freedom of speech on the internet!

You’re misunderstanding this on a very basic level. The first amendment prevents THE GOVERNMENT from restricting speech. Not private individuals. This is a very basic concept. It’s like First Amendment 101.

Seriously, spend five minutes researching the concept of “state actor”

Right, but as i said earlier father edward cannot legally compel CA to move my post down because he does not like it. It doesn’t matter that father edward is not the government.

No one thinks he can compel them to. He just reported it. The mods will decide if it needs to come down.

And this still has zero to do with the First Amendment.

They will rule In my favor since i said nothing wrong or insulting. You insulted me and called me a drunk.

Maybe it’ll get taken down and I’ll get the mods sent to the gulag for violating my internet rights.

Anyway, I’m done here. It’s clear that you have no understanding of the legal concepts you’re trying to invoke. And your reading comprehension ain’t so hot either.

And how many Supreme Court cases have there been about people having their posts edited, or being banned, that relate to private internet forums? Let alone decisions stating that private forums don’t have the right to impose conditions on members and don’t have the right to edit posts or ban posters?

Facebook takes down offensive material frequently, when members request it - such has not been deemed a violation of the free speech of facebookers. And I’m sure it’s not for lack of examples of such behaviour, or lack of lawyers willing to take on such a case pro bono, I mean think of the boost to one’s professional reputation! It’s for the simple fact that such a case would be laughed out of court.

It is, in fact, you who does not understand the Forum’s rules. The matter is crystal clear:

**The owners of Catholic Answers Forums reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any on-line discussion, or part thereof, for any reason.
**
forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=164574

There is no “freedom of speech”…only those allowances which the forum owners extend to you. In an instant, they can remove what you write or edit it or prevent you from posting…or, at their pleasure or whim, banish you.

Whatever you post must absolutely conform to their directives and account for banned topics, such as unapproved apparitions.

I know, I have not broken any forum rules. And if I had they would have the authority to take my posts down. Since I have not broken any forum rules, they will not delete my posts or ban me.

Maybe you haven’t. But the criteria for deciding that is the Forum rules and the moderators, not the US Constitution.

It makes you wonder how many of us really will make it.
If you are trying to live a good life close to Jesus, attend Mass on Sunday, Confess & receive Communion whenever possible…even if you may fall into mortal sin…I believe God will grant you the opportunity of being forgiven of your sins before you die.
You probably will have to spend time in Purgatory, though.
