Mortal Sin Question

Okay Im still learning so please be gentle with me… I will be converting Easter Vigil Mass and am counting the days. My Wife and kids are not coming with me which causes some tense moments at our house to say the least. I grew up Methodist she is CoC. At any rate to my question. When I was going to Mass this past weekend she and I were a little miffed with one another which happens when Im getting ready to go to Mass. She beomes a little frigid. By the time I got there I was upset and just torn to peices. I never went in due to my state of mind at the time. Since I am not a confirmed Catholic yet do I still need to go to confession before Saturday since I missed Mass? I made my first confession last week. I was not sure if it is a mortal sin for me since I cant take communion yet or if that matters. The closer I get to Saturday the more tense things become almost as if I am under attack. Thank you for your comments.
 
I would say you need to go to Reconciliation again.

The reason I think you need to go is because when I was involved with sacrament prep for the kids we scheduled their Reconciliation as close to First Holy Communion as possible so they had a better chance of being in a state of grace.

Well, are you a baptized person? If you are, you need to talk to a priest. I’m not sure if you can right away receive Holy Communion. If you are not baptized, you need to be baptized first before you can go to Confession. Before you are baptized, you need to be sorry for all your sins, and then all of your sins, venial and mortal, will be forgiven.
 
since you are not yet in full communion until your profession of faith and confirmation, you don’t have the same Mass obligation. in any case if a Catholic has a good reason, and a family situation could very well be one, to make a prudential judgement to miss Mass, there is no sin. It has to be intentional, without a good reason, the intent to deliberately disregard the 3rd commandment.

welcome home, and special prayers for you, yes it is very hard to be in this situation, but your are not alone. the entire Church around the world is praying for you and all the other candidates and elect, because she in her wisdom knows you will be assailed in the coming days.
