Mortal sin to skip Communion?

If I didn’t recieve communion on Christmas day is it a mortal sin? I went to mass.
 
Hi,

It is not a sin to not receive Holy Communion, although we are obliged to receive Holy Communion at least once a year. But is one is not in the state of mortal sin, why would one ever want to pass up the greatest thing one can experience this side of the grave?
