If someone thinks that they haven’t commited a mortal sin after examining their actions, then is there any way this can be a mortal sin? As it is lacking full knowledge?
To add to Marty, if you still think you are in a state of mortal sin despite not fulfilling all three conditions, bring it up to a priest in the Sacrament of Confession. It could be that you suffer from scrupulosity.For a sin to be mortal it must be 1) grave matter, 2)you have full knowledge that it is mortal, 3) full consent of will. All three must be there at the time the action is committed. If you lack any of these three, then it cannot be mortal.
