Mortal sins kind and number

Do I need to provide the number for mortal sins in confession when it is one.

I find myself giving detailed explanations sometimes (a lot in the past, but getting better) and don’t always say “once”. Or sometimes I might just state something like: “I committed ______”

Can I assume if I didn’t state a number specifically the priest knows I’m confessing one time?

This is more of a grammar question. If it’s singular, just say it, if it’s plural, say how many
