Hi Everyone,

Well i saw movie about Prophet Moses and i want to point out one scene in which when Moses went to some mountain to bring the law from God to his people and Moses made his brother Aaron(Harun) leader for his follower. What did his follower do after Moses depart. After long time when they didn’t hear/see from/to Moses. They start imagine and preach Cow idol. And i think that’s not right thing to make image and pretent that he is God. Rest you will see on that movie what happened. Whereas, with jesus when he raised up in heaven with the will/order of God. Their followers are thinking that he is God/Son Of God and they also preaching him and his mother as far as i understand from this site. Like Moses follower to Cow idol. Which Moses follower are not doing it now. I wanna know that Jews and Christians have same thinking of God i.e, MONOTHEISM or different i.e, POLYTHEISM. I know that jewish believes on Monotheism and i think christians believes on Polytheism.

Please Explain and Provide the meaning of POLYTHEISM? Hope you guyz get the idea of to pray to One God.

I confess there is no God but Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and Jesus is God Incarnate.

If God/Allah decided to come to earth as a human or spirt would he still be God/Allah?

God/Allah created us and we are his creatures. Can we tell him what form to take?

Peace,

Ryan 🙂

As far as I know, polytheism is essentially a belief in many gods. Surely, Christians ever since do no believe in polytheism. In the time of Moses, the people considered the “cow” as God. That made it idolatry. But Christians do not consider the statues and images as God, That is where the difference basically rests.

yeah polytheism is not father, son and holy spirit and yes they have statues of jesus and mary in church and they bow on knee and do this three thing with their right hand of touching forehead and right and left shoulder.

no, But i do not know what you are talking about probably about jesus. And By this question what you call jesus Son of God or God. And who will take who’s form probably jesus you mean.

Hope you response me back.Thanks

Yeah, that’s right, because the Father, the Son and the Holy
Spirit is not three Gods but only ONE GOD manifested in three divine persons. You see a vine? You see a part of it in the eastern side, and another in the northern side, and another in the southern side. How many vine did you see? ONLY ONE VINE.

When you kneel down to repair the wheel of your car, are you automatically worshipping the car as God? When a catholic kneels and there is in front of him a statue, try reading what is in his heart if you can. He is not worshipping the statue as God, but his heart is directed to the ONE TRUE GOD which the statue is not.

Hi, And whos that three divine persons are. Which vine our wrist one you are talking about and How it related to that practice.

I’ve spoken about the Trinity before on different threads; I don’t think I want to go through that again.

But if you want to talk about Moses, then I suggest you do some research about the parallels between Passover and the Crucifixion.

do this three thing with their right hand of touching forehead and right and left shoulder.

**You obviously are not watching closely. it’s a “four thing” of forehead, breast, then the shoulders. (Byzantine Christians touch right shoulder first.)

I confess there is no God but Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and Jesus is God Incarnate Who died on the Cross and rose from the Dead, and Mary is Theotokos.**

We don’t think that Mary is a God.

In blessing ourselves we are making the sign of the cross. We genuflect to God, not statues or the priests, not even the pope. 🙂

We believe in one god, who is 3 persons, yet one God–The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Mary is the mother of God,but is not a God herself.

If you don’t understand that, it’s perfectly understandable. We accept it on faith. No one can really understand God. We can explain what we believe about God, but we can’t explain how it can be what it is.

What you are describing, in no different from you bowing toward Mecca at a certain time for daily prayers. IF Roman Catholics are worshiping statutes, then you are worshiping the ka’aba in Mecca. As you are required to pray facing it 5 times a day.

Do not mean to be harsh, to to accuse/hint that Roman Catholics are doing something wrong while at the same time you are doing a similar thing is just wrong.

Hi, And whos that three divine persons are. Which vine our wrist one you are talking about and How it related to that practice.
You have read it in post#7. The three divine persons manifesting the ONE GOD is The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It is clear in that example that the ONE GOD is the Vine. In fact Jesus said, I am the Vine. That somehow should have given us a glimpse about God being the Vine. The disciples are branches through Jesus Christ. Repeat: THROUGH THE SON, JESUS CHRIST.

Hi MarkBrown,

No comments i do not want to talk any nonsense here but we used to first pray toward dome of the rock but than it changed from there to Ka’aba. And i think dome of the rock is important for three of religions.which are judaism, christianity and islam.Ka’aba is House of Allah and his protection is on Allah. Anywayz good point. And its also forbidded in Islam amd judaism to make image of any thing like mary, jesus, monkey, elephant, or others idols which are in buddism and hinduism. Are you doing the same act of statues as buddism and hinduism religion do for their Gods.I think Protestant are good in this coz they donot have statues in the church or i am wrong.I know you donot mean to do that but you worship jesus as God and when you go in church you ask from that jesus statue for help.Hope you understands.

You are mistaken. We do not ask any statue for help. The statue is not alive and cannot help us.
Yes, we do worship Jesus as God because He is God. The nature of God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Don’t understand? Consider water, it is only water (H2O) but it exists in nature in three forms as a GAS (water vapor), SOLID (ice) and as LIQUID (water). If such a thing can happen in nature why do you think it is impossible with GOD?

When you pray toward the Ka’aba, are you praying to the Ka’aba asking it for help and understanding? Are you asking the Ka’aba or the dome of the rock for help?

Do I worship Jesus Christ. Yes, I worship the living savior. Also, having statutes is not forbiden by God. Using them to worship is wrong. The Roman Catholics I know do not worship Mary or the Saints. They worship God through Christ and rely on the Holy Spirit to help and guide them.

You are correct, I am a protestant christian. I will defend a Roman Catholic christian or any other from unfair accusations.

If you want to learn more about the christian faith, and I greatly encourage you to do so, go to a christian church and talk with the minister/priest. You will gain much more insight talking with someone in your native language face to face. This is assuming you live in a country that allows christians to have a church and does not persecutes them and will not persecute you for talking with them.

Christians worship Jesus Christ because Jesus Christ is GOD. You will never understand that by your own efforts.

tomshaikh, you know the Dome of the Rock wasn’t built until after the Muslims conquered Jerusalem? Not in the lifetime of Muhammad… Muslims weren’t praying towards the Dome. They were praying towards the site of the Temple.

Sister Amy, What do you call Bait-ul-Muqadus. i think Bait-ul-Muqadus was that site where Dome of the rock is built. What temple are you talking about? Temple?

Ummm… as far as I know, “Bait ul-Maqdis” is just a name for the city of Jerusalem. Al-Haram Ash-Shareef I think is a name for the Temple Mount. This is the site of a Jewish Temple called Solomon’s Temple, a sacred site for the worship of God. It was destroyed a few centuries before Jesus and rebuilt around the time of his birth I think, and then destroyed again a few decades after Jesus. (Rough estimates, I’m not sure of all the dates except the last destruction was in 70CE.)

Some time after the Muslims conquered Jerusalem (again not sure of dates) they built a mosque (Masjid al-Aqsa) and also a shrine–which is what the Dome of the Rock is. A shrine around a rock–the rock we (Muslims) believe that Muhammad ascended to heaven from that rock. Some people also believe it was the same rock that Abraham was going to sacrifice his son on.
