Moslem judge approves of domestic violence

There is a verse in the Quran that allows for a man to beat his wife. Islam in general treats wives more like properties and possession rather than an equal partner in the household.

That should not be surprising - even in the West, women were definitely not equal partners in marriage until rather recently. In English law, the wife was not legally entitled to her own bank account; it would be in her husband’s name instead. Islam is only treating women as women used to be treated (that’s why they might be “coveted” - they were property.)

I do not know much about Sharia law, but the judge rendering of the judgment could be always influenced by the spirit of the Quran. I am not surprised at the least if he condoned wife beating, only that it’s truly despicable to condone thing such as this. If a husband considers his wife’s body as his own, he would not want to cause pain to it.

lol.

So what about the judge?

I am going to bow out of this conversation after this reply. However, I want to thank most of the people in this thread for confirming my key points.
  1. MANY non-Muslims are extremely ignorant of Islam, the Quran, and Shariah generally.
  2. They condemn all or any of the above without knowledge and take a strange pride in their misunderstandings.
  3. Catholic teaching is clear that homosexual behavior is crystal clear that OBJECTIVELY DISORDERED and cannot be accepted. The Church does not concern itself about why people are this way. Despite all of this, some Catholics continue to give themselves over to the authority of the “gay rights” movement, emotionally, and forget the objectively sinful nature of the behavior.
  4. Some Catholics seem to defend or overlook the abundance of objectively sinful practices, like homosexual activity and fornication, in western culture and demonize Islam and Muslims for social ills that are just as bad.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black 🤷

RIYADH (AFP) – A Saudi judge has told a seminar on domestic violence that it is okay for a man to slap his wife for lavish spending, a local newspaper reported on Sunday.
By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?” (Matthew 7:16).

points 1 and 2 are usual responses when you don’t like that we know about Islam, its bloody history of Jihad and that Muslims follow such a man as Muhammed are ok with domestic violence, or any violence in Allah’s name since there is no movement within Islam to stop all the violence around this globe.

And as for the gay comment, some Catholics refuse to judge others and chose to let God do the judging. We don’t chose to follow the Muslim way of ‘pushing them off of buildings’, hanging, beheading, etc.

Points 3 and 4. The Catholic Church is adament that we must love the sinner but hate the sin. She forbids homosexuality, adultery, fornication and all the moral vices you can come up with. Indeed the Church offers counseling and programs for sinners. The Church attempts to correct deviant behavior by excommunication. She does not resort to forced change; Just as Jesus did, she allows the sinner to freely accept or reject Christ. God determines the final reward. Jesus wants our friendship, not slaves.

These statements do not reflect the truth.

The first two are hurriedly formed without in depth thought as to why you get the response you did. You were jumping and moving into judgment too fast over some weak sentences which were said in the process of trying to be diplomatic. You could not differentiate the sarcasm and the subtlety of other people’s posts and so your conclusion is too narrow and simplistic to merit serious consideration.

Points three and four only show your ignorance of the church and it’s surprising because you are accusing others of the same about Islam and implied they should not therefore criticize it. As been nicely explained you would do well to understand the phrase that **“God loves the sinner and hate the sin”, **a doctrine not found in Islam for Islamic Allah hates the sinner.

Would a Moslem judge raised in a Moslem country be ignorant of Islam?
