Greetings All,
Visiting churches is a hobby of mine and so many of my favorites have been mentioned. How about the Sistene Chapel? Also, in Paris is Sainte-Chapelle, built to house the true cross by St. Louis. The stained glass is incredible. I think it is the Medieval equal of the Sistene Chapel.
Also St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle is beautiful, but, like Hagia Sophia, in the wrong hands right now.

A much more beautiful church in Orlando Diocese is: Queen of Peace Church in Ocala, FL.

Also Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine in Doylestown, PA

I’ll definitely register another vote for St. Andrew’s in Roanoke, VA! I live about an hour and a half from there and although I’ve never attended Mass there, we see it occasionally as we pass through town.

Simply Gorgeous!

The Washington National Cathedral is technically Episcopal, as I understand it, but Catholic Masses have been celebrated there.
I think it is a grand church.

At the Nat’l Shrine of the IC, that icon of Christ looks wierd, doesn’t it? Sorry, but I just have to say it, it looks wierd. It’s too big, too, isn’t it?

My two cents worth…having just been there less than a week ago, my pick is …St Peter’s Basilica. Maybe an obvious choice, but as I just became Catholic at Easter, it was absolutley breathtaking!
A little note though, although the thread doesn’t specify about beauty, I think that one of the things that factor into the beauty of a church is the history.
(Sadly sometimes this is where North American churches lack!) One of the most beautiful Churches I saw was St Mary of the Angels(Ibelieve that is what it was called - I don’t have my notes with me) which was just outside of Assisi. Right in the centre ailse of this massive church is another small church, but this was the Church that St Francis “rebuilt” when God told him to rebuild his church. This was also where St Francis died. A little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip!
