Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I encourage you prayerfully, to read more to complete Chapter 6 in St. Louis de Montfort’s treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” but today I simply want to post the paragraphs I find so important for me as I look forward to our Journey of 33 Days in Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary:
6. Transformation into the likeness of Jesus
  1. If Mary, the Tree of Life, is well cultivated in our soul by fidelity to this devotion, she will in due time bring forth her fruit which is none other than Jesus. I have seen many devout souls searching for Jesus in one way or another, and so often when they have worked hard throughout the night, all they can say is, “Despite our having worked all night, we have caught nothing.” To them we can say, “You have worked hard and gained little; Jesus can only be recognised faintly in you.” But if we follow the immaculate path of Mary, living the devotion that I teach, we will always work in daylight, we will work in a holy place, and we will work but little. There is no darkness in Mary, not even the slightest shadow since there was never any sin in her. She is a holy place, a holy of holies, in which saints are formed and moulded.
  2. Please note that I say that saints are moulded in Mary. There is a vast difference between carving a statue by blows of hammer and chisel and making a statue by using a mould. Sculptors and statue-makers work hard and need plenty of time to make statues by the first method. But the second method does not involve much work and takes very little time. St. Augustine speaking to our Blessed Lady says, “You are worthy to be called the mould of God.” Mary is a mould capable of forming people into the image of the God-man. Anyone who is cast into this divine mould is quickly shaped and moulded into Jesus and Jesus into him. At little cost and in a short time he will become Christ-like since he is cast into the very same mould that fashioned a God-man.
God willing, tomorrow Feb. 20 I’ll quote from Chapter 7 on the outline of the 33 Day Program so that we’ll have a clear “road-map” for our journey – especially for those who have never taken this journey beore, but also to help all of us who are renewing our Consecration to do so by God’s Grace in an even more fruitful way.

May the Holy Spirit guide each of us into all Truth (cf Jn 16:13) as Jesus promised. Jesus is our Way, our Truth and our Life. He came the first time through Mary and He continues to come through her until the end of time.

ENCYCLICAL LETTER
ECCLESIA DE EUCHARISTIA
OF HIS HOLINESS
POPE JOHN PAUL II
  1. In a certain sense Mary lived her Eucharistic faith even before the institution of the Eucharist, by the very fact that she offered her virginal womb for the Incarnation of God’s Word. The Eucharist, while commemorating the passion and resurrection, is also in continuity with the incarnation. At the Annunciation Mary conceived the Son of God in the physical reality of his body and blood, thus anticipating within herself what to some degree happens sacramentally in every believer who receives, under the signs of bread and wine, the Lord’s body and blood.
Peace

Dear hazcompat,

Thanks for your reply, quoting Pope St. John Paul II. Yes, he has written the Truth and I believe that is why the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches in paragraph 971:
971 “All generations will call me blessed”: “The Church’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin is intrinsic to Christian worship.” The Church rightly honors "the Blessed Virgin with special devotion…
The word intrinsic is so very important – it means: belonging naturally, inherent, essential – how many synonyms do I need to share in emphasizing the fact, we cannot do without Mary in our lives if we are to worship rightly.

Jesus gave her to us as Mother and Model from His Cross for He knew how much the Church needed Mary in order to learn from her how any human person can be so transformed by grace as to refelect God’s Love as she does.

Mary listened to all Jesus said and did and pondered all in her heart. Mary did the Truth she heard, and thus was and is His perfect disciple. St. Louis de Montfort says it well in paragraph 218, quoted above:
Pope St. John Paul II is a good example of one who followed the counsel of St. Louis de Montfort, as is also St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Both saints consecrated themselves totally to Jesus through Mary., faithfully following the teaching they found in “True Devotion”. St. JPII’s Papal motto was “Totus Tuus”, (All Yours)

Come Holy Spirit kindle in us the Fire of Your Love, that we may be transformed into the likeness of Jesus. Mary, our Mother give us your heart to receive Jesus in Holy Eucharist.

Dear patricius, Stephie, and St. Bede,

Thank you all for your “hearts” to let us know you read and appreciated the Wisdom God gave to St. Louis de Montfort for the Church. Please may we pray for one another, for the universal Church and for all those in most need of God’s Mercy.
