Most surprising Catholicism converts?

I was thinking about people who it’d be an absolute shocker if they were to ever convert to Catholicism; you know, someone like James White or Richard Dawkins. But that brought up a question to me I’ve been wondering about: Forget hypothetical converts, who were converts that were incredibly surprising, i.e. someone who was well known for being staunch anti-Catholics (like the two I mentioned earlier) but then became one?

Not a Catholic, but it was pretty interesting when the son of famous atheist Madalyn Murray O’Hair decided to become a Christian and later a Baptist minister. He’s the only member of the family to have survived, since his brother and even his own daughter, who’d stayed atheist, were murdered along with Madalyn.

I was going to post him as well! Abby Johnson also converted to Catholicism. Scott Hahn was pretty anti catholic for years as well.

Bill Hayden had been the leader of a major Australian political party, then was the Governor General of Australia for 7 years. (The Governor General is the one who signs bills into law in the Queen’s name in 15 Commonwealth countries.) Recently, at 85, he renounced his atheism and joined the Catholic Church.
