I’m sorry to hear that. I didn’t even know she was ill. 92 is a great age, though, and she did so many good works. I was aware of her for many years because of the EWTN - long before I thought of becoming Catholic. I pray for the repose of her soul and for those who were close to her that they may be comforted.

I remember reading in the *Catholic Digest *back in the 80s about a nun who had started a catholic channel. I thought how great that was because Protestants had the market cornered. What great work for the Church EWTN has done since then!

I’ve been away from the forums for a while, but I did want to express my appreciation of Mother Angelica and her efforts in establishing EWTN. The network has definitely contributed to my understanding of the Catholic faith and corrected many misperceptions on my part. It seems very appropriate that she would leave this world on Easter. Sad for those she left behind, but somehow I get the feeling she is at peace.

Thank you Mother Angelica for cooperating with Christ so much and bringing so many souls to Christ and his Church. God used Mother Angelica and the network she founded to share the truth of Christ’s Church with me.

My heart breaks with sorrow at the loss of Mother, and rejoices at her passing into eternal glory with Jesus. May her prayers help us.

Agreeing with this and others.

EWTN came to my area on free radio a few years ago and has been a big part of my life since then.
 
When I think of Mother Angelica, among many things, such as gratitude, I can’t help but also reflect on her dispute with our Cardinal. Los Angeles Cardinals and women religious have had some infamous spats. Cardinal McIntyre chastised the Immaculate Heart Sisters for being too progressive, and years later, Mother Angelica and Cardinal Mahony fought over the same thing, in reverse. It is all water under the bridge for her now, and may she rest in peace!
 
It was in dying that she was born to eternal life . . . and on Easter Sunday.
 
Like so many, I owe her a debt of gratitude.
Ironically, it was her own programs that it took me awhile to warm up to, even though so many of the other programs on EWTN I had already fallen in love with.

In time, I came to see and appreciate, she loved Our Lord as much as I did.
She was a sister in Christ, and I loved her for it.

May she rest in peace.
