Why do we refer to the Church as feminine if God is male, and he founded the Church?
 
Why do we refer to the Church as feminine if God is male, and he founded the Church?
Here are two reasons:
  1. The Church is His Bride.
  2. The Church nurtures us, like a mother her children, and we owe Her the filial devotion that a child owes its mother.

… and perhaps more practically, the Latin word for church is of the feminine gender.
