Eternal rest grant unto your MIL, o Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she Rest In Peace.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace. Amen.

And may Christ the consoler comfort her family and wipe every tear from their eyes till you all meet again.

I’m sorry for you loss. You will all be in my prayers.

May she be at rest with the Angels this night!

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Fatima, Amen…

Prayed for the eternal repose of your mother-in-law; may GOD have mercy on her, this I ask through Christ our LORD. Amen.

Byzantine Catholic Prayer for the Deceased

O Lord, grant rest to the soul of Your departed servant
in a place of light, a place of green pasture, a place
of refreshment, where all pain, sorrow, and sighs have
fled away. As a good God Who loves humankind, forgive
every sin committed by her, in word, deed, or thought,
for there is no person who lives and does not sin. For
You are without sin, Your righteousness is everlasting,
and Your Word is truth. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen

Prayer to the Blessed Mother in a Time of Bereavement

O sweet mother Mary, you knew the sadness
of mourning those your heart loved most: Jesus,
your Son, and Joseph, your devoted spouse.
Please pray for all affected in this time of loss.
Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Thank you all for the prayers. She actually passed sometime during the wee hours of the morning, and was found deceased around 2:30am. (Pray for nursing home vocations!) Since she was under care of a hospice service, the other nurse had to be called in. She’s the one who phoned hubby. He was on a business trip, and a co-worker’s dereliction of duty caused a day’s delay. He ended up at grandma’s house a few hours before the phone call. I told him he should be grateful this one time for the coworker’s negligence, as he was at the right place at the right time.

I would suggest that all make funeral pre-plans and wills. If you plan to be cremated, check your state’s laws concerning such. If you do write up an obit, and choose a pic, please notify your loved ones of where it’s located. The transition in this case was disjointed because her dementia caused paranoia. We need prayers to St. Anthony to find the necessary paperwork. Despite her having written an obit, she never told anyone where it was. I saw the document myself, but she didn’t tell me where it was. Makes me glad I read my hometown’s obits on a daily basis.

Thanks again for your prayers, love, and support. Tis truly appreciated.
