My mother-in-law who is 92 years old fell last Thursday and broke her pelvis. She won’t need surgery, but will need to spend several weeks in a rehab center. She suffers from senile dementia and we are afraid she will confuse the rehab center with a nursing home and she is terrified to got to a nursing home because in her mind “that’s where old people go to die.”

Please keep her in your prayers until we get over this hump.
 
Prayers for your mother in law that somewhere in her heart she may know this is not a nursing home despite her dementia.

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
 
I am sure that for many there are special graces received for praying for one’s mother in law. LOL May God grant her the lucidity to recognise she is in a hospital like environment. Talk to her always about the “hospital staff” the “doctors” the “nurses”; the “hospital” food. Talk about her return to her old environs, even if there may be some doubt. Dementia is a terrible sporadic disease causing great anxiety for the sufferer as they try to make sense of their environment. Change is very difficult. May Mary take her under her special care and may your MIL be as comfortable as possible.
 
Gracious and merciful Father, please come to her assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Something similar happened in our family, so my heart goes out to all involved.

My dear patron-Fathers, please pray for this family, particularly for the mother-in-law.
 
I pray for your MIL, that she will feel
cared for and attended to lovingly.

Prayers said. All will be well. Do not fear, the Lord is protecting you.
Do not be lonely, your guardian angel is beside you.
Be comforted, Mother will watch over you, and the
Holy Spirit will guide you.
