Is anyone familiar with the magazine Mother Jones, “a non-profit magazine that does investigative reporting,”? Do you recommend it?

I know about them. They are another liberal media source. I do not recommend them.
 
Depends on your definition of liberal, I suppose. But I remember reading the best pro-life article ever in Mother Jones. It was from a non-religious perspective.
 
I didn’t know it was still around. I read it during the Molly Ivins days (my political leanings were quite different then).
 
They have had some good articles about living off the land, but they are probably all ex-hippies, and believe in global warming claptrap, and I bet they are way more politicized left wing nowadays.

Nothing at all so long as you don’t believe in global warming claptrap. Now if we are still going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
 
I gave it up when they cut Alexander Cockburn to 1 page. It needed more independence and muckraking and less mainstream liberalism.
I’t’s been a long time since that happened. The last time (a few years ago) that I checked it out again, it did not seem to have improved.
May God bless Mr. Cockburn, who passed away in 2012, with eternal rest in His presence.

Go check out Greenland if you don’t believe there is climate change - glaciers are melting.
 
Still not sure about global warming, but since I can’t do much about it, I concentrate on what I can do,
I’m an ex-hippy.

The climate has ALWAYS fluctuated. Back in the 1980s, National Geographic screamed “The Coming Ice Age.” The idea that man causes these cycles and can then mitigate them is nothing but a push for political power, higher taxes, and greater control over people.
