Of course that is why they are saints. Although private revelation by anyone even the saints are left up to the Dicernment of an individual person. God will not fault you for not believing or utilizing the graces one can recieve by novenas & prayers to the saints.

Pope John Paul II instituted the Feast of the Divine Mercy on the Sunday after Easter Sunday. It is an amazing feast and one should certainly look into in your area.

As for Medjugorje it has not been officially recognized by the church for various reasons one of the most important being the fact that the visitations are still taking place. The Vatican must step back and assess and scrutinze every detail and of course this can not be done if the situation has not been completed.

Pope John Paul II said that if he were not pope he would be in Medjugorje.

Peace

Are both of these recognized and given the seal of approval from the Vatican?
Disregard, I found the answer.

I am just speculating that she is, just like you are specualting that the Holy Spirit is sitting there.
How can the Holy Spirit be sitting at the right hand of God if He IS God ???

According to what I’ve heard, Mejugordje hasn’t been “recognized” by the Vatican …
but check on what I said since I’m a naughty Protestant 😃

Huguenot: Well of course the Holy Spirit is God, but we mean the left-hand of the Father. There is one God, one divine being, but three distinct persons :).

True …moreover I got it wrong : I’ve written “right-hand” instead of “left-hand” …
If Jesus is at the right-hand of the Father, it seems logical to think the Holy Spirit is at the left-hand, rather than Mary : it would make HER the third person of the Trinity, waow !!!

In France, a few years ago, they organized a kind of poll, in the street : who are the three persons of the Trinity ? and quite a few answered : The Father, Jesus and Mary …geeeeeeeeeeeee !

Not really.

Unfortunately you and I can’t help what the individual believes contrary to church teaching. That is an individual problem not a church problem.

Well, for me, God the Father in the middle, Jesus on the right and …Mary on the left would be very strange : what about the Holy Spirit then ?

I’m not sure that the people who spontaneously answered that Trinity means the Father, Jesus and Mary really BELIEVE it, maybe they answered too quickly, I don’t know …they were surprised by the question or I don’t know what …

Ever watch Leno?? He has all kinds of “polls” that he goes in the streets and asks people. You would not believe some of the idiotic answers!!!

That is very sad though!

It was awesome, When Mary was speaking to Nancy, I could feels the hairs on my arm stand on end. And when you looked at the Sun, you could see a black rectangle longside up.

Our study group is planning a pilgrimage to the “Our Lady of Guadalupe” Shrine, sometime in 2007.

We are in the process of building a new church halfway between 2 existing churches so our parishes will be merging and our new name will be “Our Lady of Guadalupe”

Who is Leno ? ( I’m in France … )

By the way, what do you mean by “why do Catholics do what ?” what do you do ??? 😃

In part that’s right.

But it is also a major church problem, showing just how bad catechesis can be in the Catholic church. When French Catholics don’t know who the 3 persons of the Trinity are, or when American Catholics don’t know that transubstantiation happens, that reflects on how they haven’t been taught by and in the local churches.

In France they did this poll in the street, which mean that most of the people who answered were, at least officially, Catholics, but maybe there were some Muslims as well since they represent aboiut 10% of my country’s population, and maybe even a few Protestants, but I think both Muslims and Protestants are unlikely to answer that, or maybe they did if they thought the question mean : for Catholics what does Trinity mean ? ( since we could say that nearly everybody is Catholic here … ), which shows they have wrong conceptions about Catholicism … ( but if Catholics themselves gave this answer … )

As for French Catholics, according to what I read on forums they know what transsubstantation means, but some don’t believe in it and say that the Eucharist is a symbol … ( just like some of us Protestants, inclusive …me ! )

  1. Jay Leno. He’s a late night talk show host here. He’s probably the most popular one. He sometimes goes out to the streets and asks simple questions like, “Who is our Vice President?” or “What is a thespian?” and 95% of the time the people will answer incorrectly.
  2. Why Do Catholics Do That? is a book written by Kevin Orlin Johnson and it is very good at explaining why Catholics do a lot of the things we do. That’s the book I quoted.👍

JoeyWarren:
Do you really call her “Blessed”?

And if you do, do you do it with any frequency other than at Christmas time?

And if you do do it with any frequency, do you do it while witnessing to others?

Here is the ultimate challenge to you if you believe that the Bible and it is the unerroring Word of God: Make that prophecy Mary made a reality by standing up in the midst of the congregation of your Protestant church and declare loudly and affirmatively that
Mary is Blessed :amen:

Could you do this challenge, if not, then your belief that Mary is blessed is just empty lip service.

Good Day… 😦
Well from your wording it seems theres something that perhaps I do not know about your defination of blessed, I obviously hit a chord. 😦

Im only quoting:

Luk 1:48

For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
🙂 is this bad??
