Hey guys,
Why do we as Catholics call Mary “mother of mercy”? Thanks in advance!
God Bless!

Well during the Rosary we say “turn then most gracious advocate then eyes of mercy toward us.” So, how can Mary show mercy? It follows the same formula as the Mother of God premise.
- Jesus is the epitome and source of mercy.
- Mary is the mother of Jesus.
- Thus, Mary is the Mother of Mercy.
Hope this helped,
James
Mary is the dispenser of all graces. If it wasn’t for her, a lot more people would be going to hell. She is the one that saves us from God’s wrath. Anything that Mary asks of Jesus is granted because Mary never refused anything God asked of her. If Mary asks Jesus to have mercy on you, then He will.Well during the Rosary we say “turn then most gracious advocate then eyes of mercy toward us.” So, how can Mary show mercy?
Mary can have mercy. After all, she was the closest to the most merciful person who ever lived, and she never sinned, so she would naturally be incredibly merciful.Well during the Rosary we say “turn then most gracious advocate then eyes of mercy toward us.” So, how can Mary show mercy?
I just got out of geometry and all I could think was “law of detachment”It follows the same formula as the Mother of God premise.
