I’m confused. I have two wall calendars from two different parishes at home: one says today is Mother Teresa’s Memorial, and the other says nothing (other than O.T. Saturday and optional votive for BVM).

None of Universalis, iBreviary, or DivineOffice show the LOTH today as anything other than O.T. Saturday. (Although DivineOffice does have her Canonization Homily listed in the usual “About Today” space.)

The USCCB doesn’t have the Memorial listed on the calendar or indicated in today’s readings for Mass (although I find their redesigned site far more complicated than the old one - as if things are missing).

So - is it or isn’t it a Memorial today, and why all the absent references in these sources?

As best I can tell, she has not been added to the General Roman Calendar. According to Wikipedia, her feast is a Feast on the Congregational Calendar of the Missionaries of Charity, a Memorial on the National Calendar of India, and an Optional Memorial on the National Calendars of the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia.

Whether that means you can commemorate her or not elsewhere, I have no idea.

Thanks! I’m usually up-to-date on these kinds of things, but in the craziness of the last few months, I just assumed the one calendar was correct until I opened Universalis this morning.
