Mother Terresa & Novus Ordo

In another thread, someone implied Mother Terresa might not be fully Catholic because of something with Novus Ordo :confused:

I tried to research this but couldn’t find it clearly. Am posting this thread for the real story 😃
  • what is Novus Ordo?
  • do Catholics feel Mother Terresa strayed from the true path?
I’m a big fan of Mother Terresa, so please keep all posts respectful 👍

The Novus Ordo is the Ordinary Form of the Mass, as opposed to the Traditional Latin Mass, which is called the Extraordinary Form. It is ludicrous to suggest that Blessed Theresa of Calcutta (or anyone else for that matter) is not “fully Catholic” because they attend the Novus Ordo.
 
As a follow-on question, if Mother Teresa is not Catholic, is she then the first non-Catholic modern saint?

I heard that even ‘good’ Protestants end up in Purgatory so I wonder if they have to attend Catholic classes in Purgatory. Because if you go to Purgatory it’s a sure-fire thing that you get to Heaven.

Oh by the way, I can’t believe how often Mother Theresa gets bashed up by people of her own faith. She gets into trouble for what she said once or who she kept company with … opps, so did Jesus.

The visulation with this one is too funny,
endless rows of adult sinners
stuffed into gradeschool sized desks
Nuns with long pointer sticks walking the rows,
admonishing the poor students,
and praising others

I too admire Mother Teresa.

There is a group of people who think the Catholic Church is apostate. No, I’m not talking about the Latter-day Saints; I’m referring to some ultraconservative Catholics. For this group, the great apostasy happened when Pope John XXIII (another Catholic whom I like and admire) called the Second Vatican Council. I don’t know how tight-knit this group is, but they (or perhaps the more extreme among them) use the phrase “Novus Ordo” to denote the main body of the Catholic Church. They are known as “Sedevacantists,” meaning “emtpy-thronists.” That’s because they think the last real pope was Pius XII.

Probably our Catholic friends know more about this group than we would.
