Mother to be Executed- Please Help

I have no idea where this goes, and I dearly hope I am not breaking any forum rules. Mods, please move this wherever appropriate assuming it isn’t against any rules.

I was sent this by someone in my mailing list and it just broke my heart. Maybe you’ve already heard about it.

This woman was an Orthodox Christian, will receive 150 lashes for “adultery” immediately after her child is born for marrying a Muslim man, and would not renounce her faith. Her and her 20 month old son are in prison, and she is 9 months pregnant. Currently, she’s being beaten. Once her new baby is weaned, she will be executed. Her husband said that she converted to Catholicism in the video.

This has been on my heart since yesterday. Terrible but accurate illustration of what can happen when a monstruous notion wears the guise of faith and has the authority of government.

A few details that I recall differently - the woman had been born to a Muslim father and Christian (Catholic or Ethiopian Orthodox, it isn’t clear) mother, married a Christian, and gave had children. She was arrested for blasphemy and converting from Islam, because Islam requires that the children be raised in the faith of the father. The father of this woman abandoned the family and so her mother raised her in her Christian faith. So she is expected to live as a Muslim, and because it is a terrible crime for a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim, she was sentenced to death.

The sad fact is that we entirely ignored the Sudan. The State Department doesn’t care about the Sudan, period. We didn’t care when government militias were murdering rural citizens in a very obvious form of ethnic cleansing (Arabs attacking blacks, which happened to be predominantly-Muslim attacking mainly-Christian and Animist), we’re not going to say or do anything in an official capacity about this atrocity. That’s in an official capacity. I, and many others, prayed and gave money for relief in Darfur, and kept hope for peace and tolerance. But this is not to be had. The people in charge are exactly like the Taliban in that they kill indiscriminantly and think nothing of it. May they be reduced to mortal terror upon seeing the face of their Judge, Jesus Christ our Lord.

It says her husband is an American citizen…couldnt the american government intervene to get her to the usa as an asylum seeker…?

They can… but won’t. This would be because doing so would offend ‘Islamic sensibilities’ and 'cause a deterioration of relations with the “Islamic world” ’

I’m not trying to whine about the actions of Muslims as somehow being an indictment of their religion, but the State Dept. has some really kooky ideas.

What everyone seems to forget the child imprisoned with the mother is an American Citizen, and so isn’t the child she is Carrying by the grace of God. So they have imprisoned an American Citizen and will not let his Father see him or her.

Besides lack of care from or Government, do we see anything in the main stream media. Not, it might make the President look bad. Write who you can, president, congress, TV Stations etc. We need to take care of our own.

The mother has been shackled for five months, and she and her son are constantly ill from living in a prison. The state of the case is that the Sudanese Court refuses to hear from the father because he is a Christian, and it has already ruled she is a Muslim, so he cannot be the legitimate father of the children or legitimately her husband.

I’ll continue to pray for this family as my wife and I celebrate our anniversary this week.

I heard about this as well. Very sad.

It’s a shame you had to pull this off Breitbart. The top story on the “mainstream” media outlet CNN right now is Donald Sterling and Robert De Niro’s gay father.

To add more heartbreak to this, the woman’s husband - who is a US citizen - suffers from MS and is confined to a wheelchair. He was able to visit his children in the prison yesterday.

Please, continue to offer prayers, but please let’s do something to help the wife and children of an American citizen. Please write your senators and ask that the US begin to take an interest. I feel for the plight of immigrants who seek refuge from suffering, though it makes little moral sense to me to take a lenient hand towards one group and have no interest in another. If our policy is truly to be to give people a hand up, seeking judicial relief from capital punishment must surely be a high priority.

Actually the mother should convert because under Gods eyes the women can be either muslim, jew or christian. The woman has little obligation to religion, but must believe in YHWH God.

The woman is not called to martyrdom with what she’s doing. The mother is making trouble and no one sees it. She’s subjecting her own kids to punishment fo no reason at all. It’s perfectly allowed for her to convert to any YHWH religion. Mormonism and the likes are exluded.

Im sure the priests and imams have told her this over and over and tried to help her, but she unfortunately seems to be causing trouble by taking on a mans role. Conversion for women is skin deep. Men are a whole other ballgame.
