Did he?

My question was who has that authority. I mean, someone could say (na’udhubillah) that “God can not create humans.” The fact that he said such a thing doesn’t mean he has the authority.

So my question remains, who has such an authority to say that God can or cannot do something.
Ah. I would say that outside of God, no one else can. And even then, I would say that God cannot do that which is against his nature. That would be an impossibility.

Of course, only God has such authority. And then the matter becomes not what God can or cannot do, but rather what God does do, and does not do.

And if God says that He does not have a son–who are we to argue?

From my understanding, God did say He had a son. When Jesus was baptized: "And behold, a voice from the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17)

But, Christians say God did say that he had a Son. In the Bible, at the Baptism of Jesus.

“Behold, this is my Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

Jesus echoed the statement of his nature many times.

So, where does that leave us?

Muslims say that God has no son, that it is not fitting to God’s glory that He has a son.

And the only reason Muslims say that is because that is precisely what God revealed in the Qur’an.

🙂

Muhammad says Allah has no son, but did he understand what he was talking about? that is the question and reading all the verses adressing this topic, we can say he didn’t have a clue. It is like me believing i am a prophet and saying Muhammad taught that God is not self-sufficient because the Quran is the word of Allah, and the Quran is the mother of books, which means Allah is the Quran’s father and the husband of the Quran’s mother.

Any Muslim will think am nuts to believe these are the words of the all-knowing God.

Then we get back to whom are you to believe?

Those who were with jesus and heard God say this is my son?

Jesus who said he was God’s Son?

Or Muhammed who claimed that God told him so through an angel?

Ralph. you aren’t asking Muslims to study scriptures, tradition, and history, are you?🙂 to them, what Muhammad says is true, regardless of scriptures, tradition, or history since everything is corrupt except Muhammad’s words. This is indeed a miracle.

Well, no, I am not asking them that.

WE know that by God’s command, a woman had a son with no biological Father. Both sides agree to that.

Why can there be no son by God’s command?

Why is fatherhood beneth God?

I am personally insulted, as a father, by the idea that being a father makes me a piece of garbage in the eyes of Muslims. I would DARE a Muslim to say that to my face, for at that point, I would stop being Christian and be a red-neck.

God being a Father raises the bar on what Fatherhood truly is. I am to be the first example of God in my son’s life. It is by my treatment of him and others that he sees what a Father is, and by that, what God is like. IF I am loving, fair, just, merciful, willing to teach, and kind, then he learns of a wonderful God. If I am harsh, tyrannical, brutal, and viscious, he associates those qualities with God.

inJESUS;4512607:
Muhammed did not know his real father very well, did he?
No. Neither his mother also.

We have carried lots of inner healing seminars and one of the common problems with orphans is their rebelliousness in their adult lives. The rejection that they experienced when their parents were taken away (died or divorced or being adopted) from them during childhood somehow affecting them in many ways. Besides not being able to accept father as a loving figure, most Christian participants find it difficult to accept God as loving too. For this they need inner healing of their mind which was a result of their childhood experience.

It is quite probable that Mohammad did experience the difficulty of accepting God as a loving father too but instead someone else with authority without the loving touch of a father - a master for example.

I wonder if any Muslims would agree…

i often wondered too if the problem is the Quran or the individuals but i came to realize in this case they are interchangeable because when you read about consorts, partners, self-sufficiency ecc in the Quran, no wonder many muslims are stuck to that level of reasoning but sometimes i feel the damage is fatal because it’s strange that after so many explanations, they are still unable to grasp simple theological ideas.
Muhammed did not know his real father very well, did he?
no, neither his mother who died when he was 6 years old, and who gave him to foster parents when he was six months old. Muhammad said he was prevented by Allah to pray for his dead mother, and Bukhari says because she was polytheistic. Yet we read :

It is also reported that during Amina’s (Prophet Muhammad’s mother) pregnancy, she felt no pain or discomfort. She had always heard women complaining about the hardships of pregnancy, but she felt very well. During these months Amina had many dreams. One night in a dream she saw a light coming out of her. The light was shining on castles of Syria. Source: Tabaqat Ibn Sa’d, 1/63 .

and others says she had a dream where she was told :

You carry in your womb the lord of this people; and when he is born say: ‘I place him beneath the protection of the One, from the evil of every envier’; then name him Muhammad."

What did Amina experience? something divine or devilish? prohibiting Muhammad from praying for her indicates Allah wasn’t pleased with her and surely not communicating with her, so her experience wasn’t from Allah but another “spirit”, unless these whole passages are an invention from Muslims to liken Amina to the Virgin Mary, just like the hadith’s inventions of Muhammad’s miracles that are like Jesus’.

This is absolutely without a doubt since it was Mohammad’s intention to emulate Judaism and Christianity.

Jesus was created with a mother, but no father.

Adam and Eve were created without a mother or father.
Sister,if according to you Jesus was created with a mother, but no father, then what is the problem if Jesus(Holy Son) eternally begotten from a father without mother?
