Motivating people to attend Mass

The only thing to do is to have the priest visit each person personally.
When they feel like he cares, they will agree to be taken down to the Mass.
I was thinking the same thing. It’s not a catchy slogan that will change decades of behaviour.

Going to an assisted living arrangement will not make someone who regularly made it to Mass stop going now that it’s more accessible. Neither will it make someone who’s a C&E Catholic start going to weekly Sunday Mass when they haven’t felt the need to do so for decades.

All you can do, as staff, is present them with the opportunity. Assisted living or not, I would not take kindly to an employee who sticks his/her nose in my personal business, even if it’s out of concern for my soul.

I would try to discover if there are any obstacles to people attending Mass. E.g., if they can’t remember Mass responses, are there Mass cards? Are they large print, as many older people have poor sight? Are they aware that they do not have to stand or kneel if they are unable - reassurance on that may be enough for some people to start attending. People may choose not to go and that’s their decision. But equally, it would be dreadful if there are people wanting to go and something simple like telling them they don’t need to kneel if they can’t, or providing a large print Mass card would enable them to attend.
