In the Bible Mount Zion is therefore the place where God “lives”, the center of God’s kingdom present and to come, and therefore the symbol of the Church,as well as of the New Jerusalem of which Revelation speaks.
In the liturgy of Corpus Christi, there is a hymn that starts with the words “Lauda Sion Salvatorem” (O Zion praise your Savior), in which “Sion” is used for the Church.
