Does anyone here knows how to mount an icon print on wood?

I work in the wide format printing and graphics industry so I may be able to help. Does the print have an adhesive backing or is it on a poster material?

I have not printed anything out yet, but lets say it was photo paper.

If you are going to lacquer the surface, you may want to lacquer the board first.

So…
0) print on heaviest paper you have to hand. 20# is probably too light. 80# card works well.
  1. route edges
  2. sand face and edges
  3. stain
  4. lacquer or poly-coat #1; let dry flat. Evens out surfaces. May even be tinted with stain. pour on.
  5. very thin second coat; serves as fixative as well. Apply upright.
  6. apply print to tacky second coat. smooth carefully with rollers and/or squeegee.
  7. apply third, clear, coat. Again, dry flat.
  8. apply optional matte sealer if needed/desired.

This is another example of why I not only echo gamesport’s sentiments about Ghosty and mardukm, but would include, among others, Aramis.
