Mother Maria Rose Columba Bialecka was inspired to begin her mission of charity from seeing the needs of her Polish countrymen. She is the foundress of the Congregation of Dominican Sisters in Poland, whose mission was to educate both children and adults in academics and knowledge of the faith.

Another aspect of her mission was caring for the sick and dying so that they could die in peace and dignity, reconciled to God.

The order, which has convents in over seven countries today, including the U.S., Italy, Russia, and the Ukraine, serves through teaching, caring for the sick and elderly, providing retreats, and devotion to the Eucharist.
