Oh, I noticed. I want to hear how Islam is the truth and there is no compulsion of religion and yet there can be no discussion either. It is crazy to me that these poor people are fed a diet of dung about other faiths and even their own as a means of social control. It is as bad as Communism
 
a one hour preview dvd is included in the latest issue of National Review. It is not encrypted and can be copied easily.

It’s something everyone should see and be aware of.
 
Do you have access to youtube, Americanrevert? It’s probably there, too.

Funny, I can’t think of many websites that are blocked here in the good ole USA.

Me neither.

I feel genuinely sorry for those who live in Islamic middle eastern countries. They are absolutely brainwashed. The fact that they police the internet is proof of this!

Most of the populations have no idea of what the western world is really like. Most of their knowledge comes from propaganda that is fed to them from the political and religious establishment.

They may as well live in a world of their own. Big brother controls their societies shaping both beliefs and opinions.

Let’s be fair: there is plenty that is broadcast here that I wouldn’t let my sons watch. And the Muslim world sees that.

Too true. Although the Western world, like God, gives us the option of dwelling in sin or choosing the higher path.

This DVD was apparently distributed in the local newspapers this weekend. I’ve been getting emails about it non-stop, I guess it’s about time I sit down and watch it so I can respond but I hate to waste time like that. Ugh.

And if people in the USA or the UK think that your government doesn’t police the internet too… boy are you ever in denial.

But our governement lets you look at what you want, then arrests you. Theirs keeps it from you. Besides, what is forbidden to see here? Kiddy porn and how to be a terrorist. What is banned there? Christianity and anything that degrads Islam, not to mention porn.

well, I do not speak for the government, and there are churches here in UAE…actually one down from my daughter’s school. It isn’t that the government bans things on a whim or out of disgust, but they try and protect its people, this I do know for sure. I have lived here since 1986. I came here when there was nothing here and now, you can actually compare this place being better than one of the best cities in the states. It is gorgeous. It isn’t being built upon a strict Islamic government as well. It fluctuates…whenever you bring in the good, be sure that the bad always comes as well. ya can’t dismiss that fact.

youtube used to be blocked as well, sheesh, look at the disgust on it…yes, there is a lot of cool things as well, but man, even just the pic are iky to see. I take pride in knowing that things are blocked. (some things I really don’t want them to be lol but the majority I am relieved!) I have children and they only go on the puter when I open the password and let them on with my permission. But when they do, you still see what your eyes should avoid! Ya can’t try and do away with the bad when you got to use the good! It relieves me in a sense that what eyes shouldn’t see, that they do not have access to it. Sure, when they grow they will discover what proxies are etc. But it is a safety tool in my favor now 🙂

and actually it doesn’t ban things about Christianity at all, it bans what degrades Islam 🙂

It’s kind of sad really that porn is taking over the middle east.

Government censorship here is much more sophisticated. Recall that we live in a country which debates whether or not people are entitled to privacy.
 
This DVD was apparently also distributed in local weekly newspapers–my parents don’t subscribe to the N&O but I saw last night it came in the Cary News.

So now I have a copy. (They’re out of town and I’m watching the house.)

It looks just like an advertisement. 🤷

Is there any such thing as “radical islam?”

I think someone made it up.
