It’s just a movie, not porn. Unless you get lust during the movie, I see no problem with it.
I agree with 1ke. You shouldn’t take a lady to see that type of movie. I’m a girl and if a guy took me to see a movie like that I would think less of him. Plus, I think it would be akward watching a dirty movie on the first date anyway.

Take her to a museum, that way you can talk. It’s much more mentally stimulating and you learn more about each other. Live music is also classy too, it doesn’t have to be a loud concert. Movies are passive entertainment, nice but blech.

I never suggested him in taking her to the movie.

Personally, if I had to choose a movie, I would choose “Race.” I think it is the best one out currently.

No, I looked at previous threads. Op is male. I was confused.
I should know better. My name is Hoosier daddy and thank goodness I don’t live in Indiana anymore…

Here is the OP’s introductory post:

forums.catholic-questions.org/showpost.php?p=13247094&postcount=1

In it, he states: Hello. New to the forum. Nice to meet you all. I am 34, single, male.

So, if in some another post, he indicates he is a homosexual female, then perhaps the Mods need to be notified. Those two descriptions are definitely contradictory.

There are pornographic scenes IN the movie.

Would Jesus watch this movie with you? Would you take Mother Teresa to see this movie?

If the answer is no, you should not go.
Will clear a few things up but have to respond to this first. If I took Jesus to any movie I would have to deal with someone freaking out over “witchcraft” or something because he would have no way of comprehending modern technology. I also seriously doubt Mother Teresa would be interested in going to a movie theater.

Second thing. My name comes from the state I live in as well as the school I went to. I never knew that putting “Kate” would make anyone thing I was assigned female. I am a cis male. I do identify as gender fluid but that really isn’t the point of this topic.

The lovely lady I wish to take out has an interested in independent films but seems to be okay with mainstream stuff. I know that “Deadpool” isn’t a movie to take a date too because it is silly fun and meant for couples who know what they are going to see. Of course if she wishes to go then cool with me. Probably not going to go see “Risen” because just not my type of thing. The Egyptian one does catch my interest. “The Witch” is another that just isn’t my thing.

Wow 3 pages and it went so far off of “Hey what movie should I take a date to”.

I don’t even know what pansexual or gender fluid means!
Pansexual is when you identify as bisexual but want to appear more special and unique. Gender fluid is “today I feel more female than male. who knows what I’ll feel like tomorrow.” Basically you identify as a special snowflake.

Seriously? You’re telling us that using a girl’s name meant you “never knew” that anyone would assume you were female? :ehh:

And maybe this is why you weren’t exactly upfront with us:
I am a cis male. I do identify as gender fluid but that really isn’t the point of this topic.
This is a Catholic Forum. Morality enters into every aspect of it. People should not come on here with the expectation that we will grant special favors or give support in any way, shape or form that is contrary to Church teaching.

Not uncommon on the Family Life Forum.

The bottom line is your post needed clarification. We cannot assist someone in pushing forward with a relationship not recognized by the Church, and that was not by any means clear in your post, and you may have intentionally concealed that information.

That sort of behavior will raise red flags every time.

So someone who identifies as Catholic on this site is telling us that Jesus couldn’t comprehend a movie?

That makes no sense.

No, pansexual means being attracted to a person for who they are not for their gender. Being gender fluid means I can go either way. I’m cis male but many times been called ma’am. Not a special snowflake but just me. 🙂
