My Knights of Columbus Squires group are planning a camping trip for the weekend of Father’s Day. Presuming we have a projector or some other way to watch a movie, what would be a good movie to watch for this occassion (for all age groups)? If you have any other ideas feel free to share. Not a “fun” movie, but a great one:

Of Gods and Men

Our teen group was spellbound. We showed it in 2 segments…but it’s not that long.
The second half…they brought their parents. Incredible true story. With subtitles. Mesmerizing and thoughtful, on a topic of current interest.

Fred MacMurray in the 1930s stops in a small town. He decides to settle down and sees that the boys need something to do (and he is trying to impress a woman). He starts a boy scout troop.

I just watched this with my kids - boys 10,9, girls 8 and 6 - they all loved it.
