no…nobody looks there!

Laura 😛
Well, Nobody hasn’t been on in about a week, but I’m here and will answer. 🙂

My favorite movies on your list would be LOTR, Pirates of the Carribean, and Gone in 60 seconds. I’d probably watch Pirates again first, but like LOTR most.

As for those not on the list, my favorites are:
Amistad (by far my all-time favorite!)
The Sound of Music
The Color Purple
Mary Poppins
Braveheart
The Jungle Book
Fantasia
Schindler’s List
My Fair Lady
The King and I
PollyAnna
The Bachelor and the Bobbysoxer
The Pianist
The Princess Bride
The Fiddler on the Roof
Mulan
The Parent Trap
The Neverending Story
Jakub the Liar
Annie
The Green Mile
The Family Man
The Shawshank Redemption
Casablanca
White Christmas
The African Queen
The English Patient
Lean on Me
The Bishop’s Wife

As for Star Wars, I much prefer Lucas’ Willow.

Of the listed ones, I like The Lord of the Rings best. But I’m also particularly fond of:
The Princess Bride
Wallace & Gromit
A lot of Alfred Hitchcock
Most movies with Audrey Hepburn

I have to agree with a huge chunk of Forest-Pine’s list…

My favourite movie is ‘A Man for all Seasons’. It’s about St. Thomas More and it’s incredibly well done. I think it’s an MGM production, but I’m not sure.

After that comes ‘The Princess Bride’. A true classic.

Then there are the LOTR movies, the old ‘Pride and Prejudice’, and many others… ‘The Passion of the Christ’ not the least among them.

God bless,

Agricola

**I grew up on the Star Wars stories, so I like those the best. I also like the Indiana Jones triology. I also like a lot of foreign films as well:

BBC version of Pride and Prejudice
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Run Lola, Run
Das Boot
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Babette’s Feast
Waking Ned Divine
Saving Grace

These are just a few that I enjoy watching over and over again.**

none of my real favorites was on the list…

But I chose “The Ring”… I like scary/suspense/mystery movies as long as they aren’t bloody. The Ring scared the cowboy boots off me!!
The Ring made me feel dirty all over. I felt as if I’d been involved in Satan-worship.

The prevalence of horror movies in which evil wins (apparently the Ring is not the only recent horror movie like this, although it’s subtler and better constructed than most) is one of the most disturbing signs of our times.

We like…

Pirates of the Caribbean the first and the trailers for the second… we also like LOTR and High School Musical…

Laura (and little sister Theresa!) 😛
My family and I got a kick out of High School Musical! (Except for a few immodesty parts 😦 ) The music is really catchy!

Sacred: The Passion of the Christ

Secular: The Godfather trilogy

Hows that for the dichotomy of man!

There are so many to choose from sigh

I have to put in a vote for one of my personal faves, an oldie but a goodie …

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA! That music gets me every time.

Makes me wanna just drive out into the desert, saddle up the first camel I see and start blowing up trains by jingo 😃

I put LOTR for the above choices.

Pride and Prejudice A&E version (ALL TIME FAVORITE!!! :D)
Devdas (A Bollywood film…like Romeo and Juliet)
White Christmas
Sabrina
Roman Holiday
Remember the Titans
Sense and Sensibility

My husband would go for:
Star Trek
Star Wars
LOTR
Back to the Future trilogy

Obviously very different tastes…😉

Superman II
Easy Money
The Breakfast Club
Field of Dreams
What Dreams May Come
Mrs. Doubtfire
The Bird Cage
The Notebook
Enemy of the State
Mona Lisa Smile
Michael

I can’t choose only one movie! My favourite movies are:

Catholic
-The Passion of the Christ
-Ben-Hur (1959)

Secular
-All the Star Wars movies (but principally the episodes 3, 4, 5 and 6)
-All the Lord of the Rings movies
-The Sound of Music
-Braveheart
-Gladiator
-Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
-Air Force One

I can’t choose only one movie! I love all the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings movies!
Ah! And “The Passion of the Christ”!

If I had to pick one I’d say Gladiator. It is the most satisfying movie I have ever seen. I went into the theater expecting nothing but gory battles fought by 2-dimensional cardboard-cutout characters and wound up seeing a movie that had wonderful writing, a moving music score and emotional depth. I love being being pleasantly surprised.
