Will we see the “real” Mary? I wonder :hmmm:

BTW you can click on “read this article for free” and you can read it without subscribing.

I would like to know more about the writer, the actors, directors, and producers involved before I form a opinion one way or another. Other that the writer, most of that will be far down the road.

Well at the most I’m sure they will target it to Catholics, since well… they’re more of us, around the world too, plus I’s bet a big studio like New Line would want to avoid our wrath 😃 But that’s not a sure thing…

I hope it is theologically correct. It would be great to see a devout movie about Our Lady.

Here is the official Web Site

It looks to be a very well produced movie, it’s full scale movie and they put a lot work in making it. the music sounds very nice and the clothing looks authentic.

I to wonder how Mary will be and how they will portray the virgin birth and many other things. :hmmm:

From what I can tell it’s being produced by non-Catholic personal,
and perhaps this is the way Our Lady will use them to touch their hearts.

The videos indicated they wanted aCatholic view, I just hope they got a REAL Catholic view and not from a liberal Catholic.

I’m currently reading, The Life of Mary As Seen By The Mystics
tanbooks.com/index.php/page/shop:flypage/product_id/347/

This book would of been a good source for inspiration for making this movie, hopefully someone gave them a copy,

The book is like a novel and made up of the visions 4 Catholic mystics about the life of Mary. Based on the accounts of Venerable Mary of Agreda, Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich, St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Elizabeth of Schoenau. It also has a impermatar and I have new appreciation for Mary even more than I did before and also of St. Joseph.

From Wikipedia, on the Film.

The Nativity Story, once titled simply, Nativity, is a 2006 film starring Keisha Castle-Hughes (Oscar-nominated actress of The Whale Rider) and Shohreh Aghdashloo (House of Sand and Fog). Filming began May 1, 2006 in Matera, Italy and Morocco. New Line anticipates a release date of December 1, 2006.

and their journey together as they bring the Messiah into the world.

This is less then 2 months away. The Passion was in the works and well known nearly a year before it’s release. How did this slip through the cracks?

I am a little worried that we will be disappointed with the Mary in this movie.

Hopefully they got some Catholic advice on this one :gopray:

Lets hone no protestant ideas come through. Ie., Mary has other children; Mary sins; ect.
