Hey everyone,
For a class, I and a group had to make a video. We decided to make one about the Vietnam war. One of the group members spiced things up a bit by adding about thirty seconds of a scene from a real movie. I dont think he owns the movie itself and mustve gotten the scene online somewhere. Is it sinful to leave that scene in there or do i need to cut it out? it seems scrupulous but itd be nice to get a respectful answer. thanks

You aren’t doing this for profit, are you? Then you’re fine. Also, you can always cite the other film in the credits of yours.

Sam, the Neon Orange Knight

thanks for the answer. i just found out he does own it and no were not doing it for profit. thanks a lot.🙂

This probably falls under fair use in U.S. copyright law. Best wishes with the project! As the Irish saying goes, “Bail ó Dhia ar an obair” (“God bless the work”). 🙂
