I just don’t get it. These guys just don’t learn from their past mistakes. They either believe they are above reproach or are confused and clueless. I can’t wait to hear what Raymond Arroyo has to say about this–O goody he’s on tonight!

I sent an e-mail to cdf@cfaith.va. Why oh why do they make our jobs and parents and grand parents so much harder by praising immorality.

Hmmm…not good. I’m biting my tongue all the way back to my tonsils

According to the “Catechism of the Catholic Church” under no curcumstances can homosexual acts be approved (section 2357). The bishops should not allow a dissenter from the Catholic faith a platform and to seem to speak in their name.
The internal politics of the U. S Catholic conference has sometimes resulted in a variety of disagreeable situations over the years, but happily during their general meetings the bishops in time have dealt with the worst of them. This person has perhaps stayed on because he is a friend of some manager in the organization, perhaps a layperson. I hope the outcry will mean we are soon rid of him.

They rated it “L – limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling.

Were they ghostwriting this review on behalf of the Los Angelese Archdiocese?

Whatever the case, “Milk” glamorizes the cause of glorifying the homosexual lifestyle. I don’t begrudge a secular news outlet reviewing what was probably a great performance by Sean Penn, but this is a Catholic publication. Perhaps there is an historical context in which a story about Harvey Milk would be appropriate, but the film office carries the weight of moral endorsement on what they do not label as “morally offensive”. With that in mind, what the heck were they thinking??

See this past Friday’s episode of The Vortex on this topic - just click the link in my signature. He pretty much hits it on the head.

Interestingly enough, Transporter 3 was rated “Morally Offensive,” though it only has an implied sexual encounter, (plus plenty of violence and mayhem.) It looks as though the reviewer is basing his ratings partly on excellent performances and directing, things that have little to do with the moral worth of a film.
I’m sure that Transporter 3 is morally offensive, but it looks like Milk should be also.

My “guess” is - Harry Forbes has difficulty with same sex attraction - (well, not exactly “difficulty” - HE doesn’t think it’s a “problem”. He thinks YOU have a problem because you call it a “problem”- and, obviously, his boss (and the USCCB) doesn’t have a problem with it.

Does that give anybody a CLUE?

Angels,

Or it has occurred to me that perhaps the USCCB is afraid to fire him for fear he’ll play the homo victim card. This assumes that he does have SSA issues that he isn’t dealing with well, and that hasn’t been stated publicly.

i say they should fire that homosexualist bum, somebody start a petition for that!!!
