This just came out on DVD this week and I rented it today, have been looking forward to seeing it since I saw the previews, and overall, it was pretty good, one of the main characters is the actor Liev Schriber, (not sure on spelling?), hes a great actor imo.

The plot is basic alien invasion on modern Ohio, but to avoid all the costly alien CGI, they went with ‘aliens’ that can take over a humans body, so they could get away using normal people playing aliens. lol

The one thing I found kind of curious was the main female character, cant think of her name… shes playing a 13-15 yr old freshman high school kid, but in her travels, she meets and befriends a late 20s -early 30s guy, they end up kissing and they show them lying down together in the back seat of a car and then fade away to next scene (implying they had sex), I thought this was pretty bold for them to put such an older guy as her sex partner, when they couldve just as easily made his character younger, to better match them…???

I guess thats the way of the world though?!!

That would be illegal as well (in the US, at least).

Creepy… But this was originally a young adult book, so the alien thing wasn’t to cut CGI costs. Given that it’s a YA book, I’m also not horribly surprised by the sex. Personally, I try to avoid most of those when I can. Some of that genre are really good, others, not so much…
