I saw this yesterday and while Im not into sports, it was a great movie, they say its a true story also. Im curious if anyone lived in any of these areas during this time when the ‘Jesus revolution’ was happening? Many people claim it was really a miracle and continued on at more schools up until about the early 90s.

I was left wondering what caused it all to stop though?

I was left wondering what caused it all to stop though?

The short review I read when I saw it in an Ignatius catalog I got yesterday sounded good. I may purchase it soon.

My guess is that when people stopped cooperating with bringing about the good with the tensions, then it faded away. But, there is no reason that it can’t start again! God doesn’t withhold his grace when it is asked for!

There are no real spoilers with this movie, so I will describe the basic plot…

Set in Birmingham AL, right after the black church bombings, about a high school football team and their coach, the entire community around them including their own team are dealing with all the racism, only 4 black team members, until a man convinces the entire team to give their lives to Jesus, eventually the coach and a rival team joins in, the story is about how they were able to overcome all the racism around them and become a true team who puts God first. Those living in the area at the time, claim what they saw happen was a miracle.

The man who traveled to speak the word of God to them was inspired by attending a Billy Graham Explo in 1962. It was referred to as the ‘Jesus revolution’.
