MOVIES: Spiderman 3

Of the three characters that harbored revenge in the movie at some point, two of them learned to forgive. Maybe it was due to the fact that they had an understandable reason to desire revenge if though they found out that revenge was very poisonous.

The third person…well, he wanted revenge for his illicit activity being exposed.

If I did, is that so terrible? Why does everyone always jump on me every time I point out the bad parts of a movie? :rolleyes:
Honestly I can’t remember noticing any of that while I was watching the movie or afterwards.

Perhaps you should go see the movie again…
In regards to Emo Parker’s dance moves, were you referring to on the street or in the Jazz bar. I can see your point on the “street” portion, however during the Jazz Club sequesnce I found his dance moves to be very reminicent of the older musicals from that time period, didn’t think they were inappropriate.
On a side note, I had no idea Tobby McGuire could dance at all nevermind as well as he did in the movie, I was very impressed.

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for it to sound like an attack, it just struck me as amusing that you noticed that mutch minute detail especially when watching the movie for the first time.
Sometimes it’s hard for tone to come across on the written word.
I appologize if I upset you, that wasn’t my intention.

oh I intend to, but not for the reason’s you suggested. I plan to own the movie and put it with my other comic movies (Batman Begins, Superman Returns, X Men)

Ahh- I see. Still really didn’t think it was that bad, but now I have a better understanding of what you were referring to.
 
Saw it on IMAX for Mother’s Day.
I love the comic book movies. Kids were working so hubby took me because it’s how I wanted to spend the afternoon.

I LOVE special effects movies in IMAX…the sound, the action is a much richer experience.

As for the movie, I enjoyed the message, I enjoyed the villain character development.

I so do not like Kristin Dunst as Mary Jane. She is so milk-toast and slow moving - she sleep walks through every scene. Even when she sang there’s nothing in those eyes of hers, you just can’t connect with her. The character of MJ in the comic book is not this insecure depressed person depicted in the films. She has more spunk and confidence.

Hated the crying scenes delivered by McGuire and Dunst. They were not well done at all - quite forced for that calibre of actor. The final scene over the loss of Harry was better, and while I understand it’s a typical comic book shot I despised that sunrise pullout at the end of that scene. It is a shot which was put in there for the sake of having it rather than as development of the story because the fight took place in the darkness and with that many people on the street it sure as heck wasn’t between 3 - 6am.

Same complaint with Emo Peter strutting down the street. That was a totally commercial-driven scene which is out of place in the comic book genre. It was there to please the MTV people - you could take that entire scene and see it as a music video on MTV and/or an extra for the DVD release. It’s as if they developed the music video first then stuck it into the movie. It was not necessary to use a song to show Emo Peter getting cocky.

This is what kept the film from being as good as was expected, but I still enjoyed it overall and will add it to my collection of comic book DVDs as well.

Yes, I do notice those things. I am very offended when they use God’s name in vain (and it’s just way too common). 😉

Yeah, I actually saw Spidey 3 twice. I enjoy the super-hero movies a lot…I just think that the director always has to put something in there to ruin them. The X Men movies, aside from being pretty boring and downgrading characters like Cyclops and Rogue, had to have a naked Mystique. She actually wears clothes in the comics. :rolleyes:

I thought it was really annoying and unneeded. Besides that, it almost made me puke. :eek:

I just don’t think that such things are needed to make a movie better. I really do belong in the 1940’s. 😃

To be honest, the X Men movie was not really my favorite, by far. I happen to be a batman fan, although I did like the new superman as well.

I actually thought it was funny becasue I wasn’t expecting it, and actually it kinda reminded me of the older movies where charachters would break into song or dance down the street
It did also show how cocky he was getting. I agree it wasn’t needed.

I saw the movie on its first day out. Over all I really enjoyed it.

I don’t think it was a coincident that Spiderman goes to the church after realizing how far he had sunk because of the suit. I got the impression that perhaps he was seeking the strength to rid himself of the suit.

What does EMO Parker mean. I have never heard of that term.

I have to say, Batman Begins was probably the best super hero movie I’ve seen. It didn’t make a mockery out of batman. 😉

Even so, that movie has some bad parts, but I love DVD because you can skip whole scenes at a time. 😃

The 40’s had some great stuff (with Irene Dunne, Carey Grant, Kate Hepburn, etc…). 😃
 
I really enjoyed the movie. The whole part with Topher Grace in the cathedral praying for that horrible thing made me a bit uncomfortable but like some of the others here have said, it just showed how disturbed his character was. The black goop was kinda creepy…it reminded me of demon possession. I really liked the strong good conquers over evil and forgiveness lessons…prolly alright for older kids (teens). Great movie!👍

That’s almost exactly what the “black goop” was. Actually it was a symbian being, I guess you could make that connection, it certainly doesn’t conflict.

I just have to say one more time, I really liked his movie, I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD
 
Do people actually not know the black goop guy is Venom? Venom is the best Spiderman villian of them all and in fact I was disappinted that he only played a minor roll with the Sandman and Harry. The Green Goblin and Dr. Octopus got to star as the sole villain in each of their movies and Venom is way better and deserved the same. The villians were not developed nearly as much as they were in the first and second movies. Other than that it was good. X men did the same thing in their concluding movie with finishing with a bunch of characters at the expense of character development.

Yeah…when Eddy gave into the virus and said that he liked being bad, it reminded me of a story that I read. A guy who was possessed saw Fr. Amorth (the chief Vatican exorcist), and he said that he liked being possessed. 😦

I think you have a good point. They didn’t even really tell the audience that Peter’s spidey sense didn’t work with Venom. Same thing with X-Men. Cyclops was downgraded so bad in those movies. You couldn’t tell that he was the team leader. :rolleyes:
 
I really liked this movie!!!

I liked it more than the second one which i found a bit boring.

it had a really good message at the end.
 
We just went to see it today. I was kind of bored with it. It seemed like the story stalled so many times. The action scenes were good, I guess.

I was disappointed. Looks like I’m in the minority here.

Yes I did know that it was venom 🙂 I was just using the terminology that he /she did.
Venom is most definitley one of the really cool bad guys!
