The St. Therese movie isn’t directly about vocations but it is certainly thought provoking. I think it’s more useful for girls than guys but it certainly gave me a better idea of what religious life is like. ^^👍
 
It’s not a “great” movie, but when I was a girl and saw it on the tv, I liked it. “The Trouble With Angels” with Haley Mills. I just watched it again on X-Box. It’s really cute and touching. I don’t know if it was my pregnancy hormones, but I actually started crying at the end when Haley Mills’ character decides to become a sister.
 
My favorites that give a positive view of vocations:

The Sound of Music (“Climb Every Mountain” is THE song about vocation)

There are a couple of movies with Gregory Peck where he plays a priest that also give a very positive view of the priesthood (sorry, the names escape me)

I LUV that movie! It always makes me think of nuns and for some weird reason it makes me consider my vocation a little deeper (that and it makes me laugh). And it does have an inspirational ending. The sequel was pretty awful but the first one was awesome! 👍
 
Simon Birch is good movie when it comes to Vocation and discernment.

As far as I undestand she was not unhappy when she lived outside the monastery but still she wanted to live in it.

A really great one is The Catholic Priest Today. Every time I watch it I want to become a Parish Priest. Maybe I should watch it again today. 😃
 
Two other great classics that aren’t particularly for vocations but always inspire me are Bing Crosby’s Going My Way and The Bells At Saint Mary’s. He plays a Parish Priest in both of them, and it always inspires me to look more closely into the Priesthood. Hopefully one day in ten or eleven years my dream will come true. 😃

I didn’t know that there was a sequel. I don’t find it weird at all that it would make you consider your vocation more. Although it was a light movie and had many laughing moments, it also had a level of depth when Haley Mills’ character (Mary, I think) would silently observe the Reverend Mother and the other sisters and saw their devotion to God and to each other. It showed their humanity and spirituality as well.
