Dh works from home and since our diocese is horrible with almost no vocations (Rochester), we’ve decided to move. We want our kids to be able to settle near us and as it stands now, in 10 years we will probably have to drive an hour or more to get to Mass and it would probably be an ultra liberal one at that.

Ideally we would like to be near a priestly fraternity church, but another factor would be that it is a traditional diocese with vocations. Lincoln NE won’t work because we want to go south where there is no or little snow and stay within a days drive of NY. The states we are looking at are TN, WV, Virginia, northern NC, southern PA. Any suggestions? I just can’t seem to find the right terms to google to come up with that kind of information about the diocese.

I assume when you mean you are looking for a diocese with vocations, you are trying to find a traditional and orthodox Diocese?

Go to web2.airmail.net/carlsch/MaterDei/churches.htm
for a list of approved Latin Masses in the United States. These parishes will most likely be good choices for you.

well I’m in TN, (Diocese of Nashville). Unfortunately right now there are no FSSP parishes in the state, we have around 20 vocations to the diocesan priesthood though. A few Tridentine Masses are being started but its not a bastion of Traditional Catholicism by any means. (Too busy fighting off the Baptists!) 😃
