I was these days in tourism in Toledo, here in Spain, the name is the original of the city of Ohio. From 5 centuries ago there was a privilege in the cathedral to do a mass in the hispanic-visigotic rite or mozarabic rite, this last name because the christians were live in muslims lands in Spain celebrate this mass. In XII century the queen of Castilla and the archbishop, were french, obliged the roman rite. The origins were in the James the Major, evangelizing spanish people.
Well, I have the privilige to see this rite, there was a latin mass with priests celebrating face to face with the people like now, but have differences, in all masses they pray for the martyrs, they give the peace before the consecration, later of the consecration, we pray the creed and later very near the “Our Father” and we receive the two species, bread and wine in the mass. I am very happy.
