the general answer is that two unmarried people of any age may not sleep together (if you mean what that euphemism generally means). Be very careful about using your real name on such forums as this, it leaves you very vulnerable.

All those of whatever age and circumstance are called to live chastely. For those who are not married, that means no sex. Being elderly doesn’t give one a license to sin. The young folks call what you’re describing as being “friends with benefits” and God doesn’t think that’s funny.
Where did you get the idea that fornication is OK just because you’re old? If you’re both widowed you are free to marry even though it may be complicated by family and financial considerations.
I edited this because I reread it and it sounds harsh. That’s not intentional. Being a faithful Christian isn’t easy. Being left alone after a spouse dies is part of the cross one carries and it’s not a light one. May God bless you both.

**"2353 Fornication is carnal union between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman. It is gravely contrary to the dignity of persons and of human sexuality which is naturally ordered to the good of spouses and the generation and education of children. Moreover, it is a grave scandal when there is corruption of the young."
There iss no upper age regarding the Sixth Commandment of God.
It is either marriage or chastity regardless.
The fact that conception is no longer possible is irrelevant to the Commandnent. It applies until death.
However it would be very unwise to marry simply for sex.
You say your are both ‘in love’. That doesn’t give a license to sin at any age, but I guess you both need to think your future and your relationship through.
As you both will know, marriage has a lot of elements.
