The ranting, raving and interuptions on Matthews behalf is how he normally conducts interviews with everyone who appears on his show.
I think he put Bishop Thomas Tobin on the spot by asking tough questions and demanding answers; but then again if you look at his track record, he has a habit of doing that with almost every guest on his show.
Interestingly, Matthews, a Catholic referring to the Bishop as “Your Excellency" was obviously a faux pax; I’d think he’d know how to properly address the Bishop.
Religious figures depending on how you view them, are in the public light as a rule and as such are subject to criticisim and praise. I don’t think he was too concerned about appearing on the Chris Matthews Show, he can take care of himself as it was obvious if you saw the program.
As far as “having his nose punched”, i’m assuming you mean figuratively, that accomplishes nothing. If your really offended by what you saw, don’t waste your time writing a letter, rather the best weapon is to not watch the show at all.
